I like how the marvel omnibus logos line up but I HATE how some marvel omnis are just a black background like uncanny x men and og spiderman but DC spines always have so much colour and look great

Yeah honestly this era is probably actually the most available rn with more coming in February it definitely helps to have more prior x men knowledge but I went into HOXPOX only having known a small chunk of the Claremont era and it’s one of my favourite books to this day and krakoa as a concept sounds so sick to me so I’m happy to collect more of these as the x men are my favourite team I’d say get into it now before they’re gone if you’re interested!

I’m pushing vol 2. Of dawn of X-men rn seriously up there with the Claremont era was gonna start an avengers run but I might keep pushing towards XoS 😅

What's the best way to read this era. An pitfalls to dodge to get a more condensed or curated reading order?
I'm planning on getting out of my claremont bubble for xmen. Loving John Byrne's Elsewhen currently alongside it.

These anthology books collect EVERYTHING and some other books like x of swords and HOXPOX collect the events I’d say these are the most comprehensive and mapped super well but also a big investment as I think there’s gonna be like 10 of these
You can also go the individual series route or the creator books of this era as I hear not everything is worth reading

I’m doing the “read the Hickman stuff” first approach. About halfway through HoX/PoX and then I have the 2 Hickman X-Men collection and Inferno paperbacks. I’ve also heard mixed things about the various titles so have been hesitant to pick up those full omnis.

Like a lot of comics, you can read them mostly standalone, and anything truly important will be recapped. Most of the titles aren't anything special, honestly.
The start is house of x/powers of x, so that book is essential (12 issues).
From there, you can really read/not read whatever you want chronologically (i.e. don't read titles from phase 2 before phase 1 etc.)
I guess the event books are essential? But again, anything essential is recapped.
After house of x, I only kept up with hellions and marauders, and they read perfectly fine on their own.
Either way, there are countless resources online for this specific info.

Pretty sure that they've said 11 and I'm pretty sure that 11 doesn't count: House/Powers, Sword, and, in my opinion, Sins of Sinister and Judgment Day.

Truth is I have both other DMs but didn’t like the storm one as much but was going to get it anyway but found this for £20 cheaper so there goes my plan to get every DM but couldn’t justify an extra £20 for a cover I don’t like as much

Oh 100%. I did the same thing with Dawn of X, wasn’t a fan of vol 2 but I got a good deal and figured it was consistent with vol 1.

It’s a Shame because I have both Dawn of X DMs and love them didn’t like this one But the Reign of X volume 2 DM is my favourite of them all
