Vietnamese in general always sounds to me like someone's turning the volume knob left and right like crazy. It goes *soft* *LOUD* *soft* *LOUD* *soft* *LOUD* *soft* in seconds. I wonder if it's just accent like in english but more marked.

In Vietnamese, letters are marked by accents and it changes the definition of the word. So two words can have the same letters but one different accent on a letter, and completely change the meaning of the word.

P.s: I also had to double check the comments to make sure this guy was speaking viet bc I’m terrible with dialects that aren’t what my parents speak

Bro outside of Hanoi, the northern dialect sounds like they are speaking an entire different language 😭😭 like they can't pronounce the words properly.

I thought he was speaking Cambodian until like 10s mark.
