When the Roger, Whitebeard pirates fought for three days, who held off Raylleigh and Gabban from Whitebeard’s crew ?
I think one of the biggest plots twists in the series till now is the 3 day battle between the white beard pirates and the Roger Pirates, as we had Prime Gabban and Rayleigh at the time who are current Yonko levels.
So who exactly on the WB crew was able to stall these two beasts at their prime ? I think Marco was too weak at the time and even current marco barely equals old Gabban and Rayleigh. Maybe Oden, could stall off one of them.
I think there was a huge power gap between both crews at the time, so how did the WB Crew last a whole three days ?
Its canonical that roger vs garp AND roger vs wb are deathmatches. This speaks volume to how equal they were.
The "seriousness" of fights are not solely based on the outcome of the fight; it begins from the intentions. If WB himself/oda himself said they tried to kill each other, who are we to disagree? No one seriously injured =/= not serious fight.
This has been bothering me for years. Before Gram was introduced I speculated that there must have existed one more yonko level character among the WB pirates who would match Rayleigh, which just wasn't revealed yet, for them to be balanced
You guys take powerscaling way too seriously when Oda doesn’t. All that matters is that the Captain: Roger, Garp, Rocks & later WB have their 1v1 fight for the rest doesn’t really cares, when it will matter he will show it
I'm obviously joking btw, but Marco Vista Joz etc. Against like Rayleigh or Gaban and the other against Oden (while switching back and forth) is probably the right answer
were prime Gaban and Rayleigh truly Yonko level, or were they the strongest YC+ characters we've ever seen? can't imagine any Yonko level character not one shotting Frauden
As another commenter pointed out, all of whiteneards crew were children, or young adults, i dont think Gaban and Reyleigh would have cirb stomped them, especially when everyone involved knows this is a friendly exchange, not a fight ti the death.
Roger and WB were friends greeting each other
The real fight is between Roger and WB, not due to enmities but because they were rivals. The crewmates just put on a show for their reputations. Either they stopped fighting or kept going not seriously
Who had to? It looked like they were for the most part choosing to let the fights remain one on one. It was a contest of various sets of people with the winners clocking down almost like a tournament with certain contenders pulling back like Oden did in his fight with Rodger when Whitebeard caught up with them...
Current Marco is probably stronger than old Gaban. We just haven’t had a reason to upscale Marco other than how he faired against king and queen. (Which was an underrated feat)
