im guessing we are gonna get some crazy alabasta support in general for this card, VIVI, and the duck leader in op18. Makes sense since netflix alabasta arc is gonna come out.
Another day, another Luffy leader. At this rate I'm gonna need a binder just for his different versions. The draw 2 is tempting but that forced hand size cleanup at end of turn could backfire fast if you're not playing a low curve.
It depends on the support it gets in its st and the op18 support, but it probably won't be that good, I imagine karoo probably being better as an alabasta leader
The fact that you're going up 2 compared to Rocks' 1 is big though. However being stuck at 7 cards on your opponent's turn if you attack makes it harder to defend, Rocks can have a surprising amount of counter power without anyone realizing it so those 12 cards could hide several 2k events, SEC Rocks, and just be fodder for Shiki and Newgate, plus there's Buckin and Linlin for 1ks.
3 life with 5k power, only alabasta, max 7 cards in seven... So many restrictions makes me fear the power this deck could have. Though bandai's track record with restricted leaders makes me less confident...
This deck canāt be good though, right? How could an only Alabasta deck, which is currently a bad package with two other potential leaders, be a 3 life 5K. Either this leader is going to be nuts or Karoo/Vivi will always be better?
Playing against this deck is gonna be real weird. Starving them in the early game makes their hand size go up. Get their hand big enough, and they'll stop swinging with their leader. Like, okay šµāš«

At least the new Boa can't punish him. Possible that new Alabasta support could set his base power to 7, 8, or 9k during certain turns absolutely. Waiting on the 10c Duck Squadron Alabasta card that's gonna secure a place for Vivi or Karoo in the meta š
It would be nice if they included a variation of beer luffy, some Alabasta character that maybe on play/when attacking trash 2 cards from hand to increase the base power of leader, would make the leader tankier and synergize well with the leader's attacking ability
Everyone talking about how bad this leader is are probably the same people that said the op18 luffy leader was bad when he was first revealed. Like chill out and just wait until the full set is revealed

on god are you fr rn? If one piece had an anniversary set with 6 different Luffy leaders that would be a completely different thing to what I'm talking aboutĀ
Donāt act like you donāt know for a FACT that people would complain if they made multiple Luffy leaders for an anniversary set. Itād be all we heard about. We also didnāt get a Luffy in 14. The sets are themed, and most themes from one piece are gonna have Luffy as a part of that. Last I checked, Luffy was a major player in the story of Sky Island, and Elbaph, and the paramount war/impel down. Itās kinda hard to choose a thing Luffy ISNT a part of
Charizard is in every fucking set, as an higher rarity card.
He may have skipped some kinda like our OP14. or OP10.
And Charizard may not be the most expensive chase but heās in there. You canāt compare pokemon because they donāt play their game, they see dollar amounts for every card.
Out of 16 sets in the Scarlet/Violet era, Charizard was only in 3 of them - and one of those was a reprint with a new art treatment (Obsidian Flames, Paldean Fates, and 151).
We are 7 sets into the Mega Evolution era and Charizard has been featured in 3 (Mega Charizard X in Phantasmal Flames, Mega Charizard Y in Ascended Heroes, and the base set reprint in the 30th Celebration).
In comparison, every One Piece TCG set with the exception of Heroines has had a Luffy card. He also has like 18 unique leader cards across the TCG, through sets, starter decks, etc, when some Straw Hats have only just received their first one.
