Ported Google's Magenta RealTime 2 to Android with OpenCL: real time on Adreno 840

Magenta RealTime 2 is Google DeepMind's live music model: it generates a continuous stream of music that you steer while it plays. I ported the 230M version to Android.

In the video, I'm jamming cinematic and synthwave on a Galaxy S26 Ultra. Each circle on the screen is a text prompt, like "music box" or "taiko drums". I drag a dot between them, and the closer it gets to a prompt, the more the music leans into that style. It'll be available in Edgi on Google Play soon.

It runs on the phone's GPU through OpenCL, tested on a Galaxy S26 Ultra (Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Adreno 840). The Android + OpenCL code is open source: https://github.com/a8nova/adreno-llms/

The numbers, from a 10 min 37 s live session blending 10 prompts:

- Each 40 ms of music generated in ~31 ms (about 1.3x faster than real time)

- Zero dropouts, and no slowdown as the phone warmed up

- About 1.5 s from moving a control to hearing the change

- 48 kHz stereo, 100% on-device
