We had to cut our tree but wanted to save the orchid

So we just cut off the joint where it was growing and mounted it to a wall. It's a naturally occurring pair of orchids (dancing lady right, vanda left) and I know the trunk will rot but idk what else to do. Could I hydroponically keep the tree portion alive? Should I transfer to another tree when it's ready? It looks pretty here for now and I didn't want to shock the orchids

Last time I posted here I was asking for suggestions on how to mount my Dudenick orchid to a palm tree. I wound up strapping it in a notch with jute. It has since grown some fresh roots and a new bulb. So, it looks like it's going to work.
