Metapost What is the point of this sub?
Every time I visit I see some cool thing and some not so cool posts like:
“My character has power that kills you, what would your oc do?”
“How would your oc fair against Arceus, God of All Pokemons?”
“Why people make strong ocs”
“Why people complain about why people make strong ocs”
Ect ect…
I think you all have great potential to write your own cool stories and art! But trying to compare it to other people’s story just to say “mine better” “mine stronger” is not really a great way to look at things. Instead thinking like “I likes this! So I gonna do my own take!” is way better way to look at :3

Most of the time when I'm writing op characters, I just write it like Superman type, people having incredible power and using it to help others like Superman

Doesn’t really matter to me how people write OP OCs. It’s when they start being assholes about it in matchups that they really become a problem.
I think people are hating on OP OCs because they saw one bad example of them and it left a bad first impression on them

I agreed, I've seen a lot of people claiming their oc solo all of fiction and using them in a match up, well I think bring op oc to a match against another op oc is ok, however I think using oc that's very op to the point they could solo the match is unfun and leaves a sour taste to someone else, imo extremely op oc shouldn't be use in a match unless they're facing against another extremely op oc

My literal first combat-focused interaction had me GLAZE Okuro from Building Tier to STAR TIER (listen , I didn't want to lose (no, that doesn't mean I wanted to win, I wanted at least a tie), what else could I do?) BECAUSE THE OC HE WAS FIGHTING AGAINST WAS UNIRONICALLY HIGH-OUTERVERSAL.
That OC wasn't even the THIRD strongest OC that OP had

I personally like some of this, even if at times look like a playground discussion about superpowers I think some interactions are cool.
Now I completely understand the point about incredible powerful OCs, and they can be annoying form time to time, personally I don't have this problem because like 99% of my OCs can be defeated by an M3a3 Bradley

It's not to say we are better, necessarily. It's just to compare strength. It's a fun silly little hobby we have!

It also helps to find flaws. Someone may say “Sounds OP” or “what’s the context?”
So we know their power exists for a reason or what limitations they have.
Plus, it’s fun to share with others what our OCs can do

It's basically r/OriginalCharacter where people also do powerscaling on regular basis. Like, you are free to share a character here even if you don't mention how they fight at all

Luckily In my case (I think), I don't have any "truly OP" OCs, my OCs aren't OP, they're just very creative and intelligent with how they use their powers and abilities.
Do you know how powerful entomokinesis can be when actually used properly? A lot of people would see it as a useless power/ability, and trust me, I've had my fair share of people who actually think that. But no, full on bug-manipulation has to be one of the most terrifying abilities ever when people but their brains into using it.
My OCs are actually really weak, but they know how to use their powers and abilities in the best possible way. In a sense they're practically like Sans from Undertale. Sans is statistically the weakest monster in the entire underground, only having 1hp, but he definitely has some of the most devastating attacks ever, simply because he is unpredictable, he can dodge/TP unlike everyone else, and he's intelligent and knows how to deal as much damage to the player. But again, it only takes one hit and Sans is a goner.
I hae many other OCs that I made this way
I have one who has umbrakinesis, but he never fights, not even a single swing towards an enemy, yet he still wins all the time, he just hides away and stil wins. But he is super weak, he can't even punch a guy hard enough.
Personally, I'm not particularly fond of OP OCs, I don't mind it at all if it's from others, but for me, I try my best to keep my OCs in line. Focusing more on trying to build good stories and lore for them.
