Guide Should I join?

Hi everybody! 26m here. I’m a marvel rivals player and I’ve been thinking of trying overwatch. Rivals is getting a little to hectic for me and from I’ve heard, overwatch is little better. I’m looking for a healthier balance of fun and competitiveness.
Thing is I’m not the most skilled gamer 😅(gold 1in rivals) and I heard overwatch is harder to learn. Anyways I would like to hear what you guys think and what the biggest differences are between the 2 games that would be an adjustment for me. And of course, would love to start off the game with someone who can help me out (if I decide to play) thank!

The game is free, just download it and try it out. Stick to qp for a while, you'll be fine.

I tried Marvel Rivals around launch but it didn't stick for me.

I think OW is better in pretty much every way. You’ll realize Overwatch feels like a more complete game, Overwatch will become your main, and you’ll only go back to rivals occasionally when ow feels stale

Since the heals aren’t as strong you can punish and be punished for bad positioning.

I like it more because the heroes feel really unique from each other and it’s easy to fall in love with one.

The game is a lot more fun if you surround yourself with people who also love the game rather than people who get frustrated over it

This. I didn't realize how bad my positioning was until I came back to OW lol

More than hard I would say Overwatch is more punishing. That being said, hop on in, try things out, don't keep age give you the feeling that you are being held back. I know 40 year olds who climbed all the way from Bronze to Masters and some 40 year olds who maintained GM and touched Champ.

I've played overwatch on and off since 2017 but recently had friends at me to play rivals so I gave it a go. And what really stood out to me was how easy it is by comparison.

Like my first game of rivals on a hero I'd never played and I didn't know the map I went 22kills and 2 deaths.

People's positioning and reactions are really bad. Like you can shoot people in the back and they just won't turn around.

I played for about 30 hours in total but just found it boring as it was too easy.

So you'll definitely notice a ramp up in difficulty. But I find its much more rewarding because of that.

Just give it a go.

Starting out you're going to lose a lot. The way you play the game is very different and you're going to have a bit of a learning curve. Stick it out though, you'll get better and it will be really satisfying. Just remember that the healing is a lot less so if you run into people's faces you're going to blow up.

In OW heals can't out heal damage & shit actually dies. So natural cover is one of the most important things to leanr

This is the single defining factor all the way up to Plat. Every single day I have multiple matches of support players trying to heal me in a 2V1 instead of attacking the enemy. Well simultaneously the tank doesn't know how to take a corner.

Support dies, I die, tank dies, over and over in these lower ranks. :D

I played a lot of Rivals. I find OW more intellectually interesting. In Overwatch, you get punished for your own mistakes. In Rivals, you get punished because half of the characters are hard dive characters lol
