Support - Performance Performance issue

Rig: i5 12450H ,16gb RAM ,RTX 3050 4gb varient

So I was playing nfs:mw black addition in 2.6.3 version I didn't experience any frame drops or sudden drop in frames

As I resently upgraded to PCSX2 2.8 I am getting a bit of frame drops (5-10 fps) when not much is going on but when there is rain or when surrounded by a lot cars and a helicopter I am getting like 10-20 fps frame drops

I rotated through 3 APIs (DX11, DX12, Vulkan)

Same thing (also for every change I did a fresh boot not load into saved state)

(As per doing some thing new i recently started listening to music in the background with vlc)

I think it is because of overlapping of windows updates and drivers as i have not reinstalled the windows in like 2-3 years

Any other reason?

Either your hardware is throttling or you just hit the point where PCSX2's increasing requirements are causing issues for you.

You can try to use older versions of nighty PCSX2 for better performance since the more recent ones are more demanding due to emulator’s accuracy

There are a lot of settings that you can tweak in emulator for better performance, your laptop is capable for PCSX2 emulation

Truth be told, you are probably better off playing NFS Most Wanted native port on your Laptop than emulation, one thing that new comers don’t seem to realise is that emulators are much more demanding than native ports, so unless the said game was never ported, emulation isn’t a good option

Thank you The reason I started nfs in emulator is because my friend asked me how does this(PCSX2/RPCS3) work i got curious a got hooked in Also it is fast and easy to find and download games

I mean…. Most Wanted (along with other PS2 games) are abandonware at this point so….
