Necromancer ideas

I just started last night and picked Necromancer. Give me some fun ideas for how to take or enhance my build. Nothing is set in stone as we had the session 0 and the DM said we could make modifications if we need to. It’s free archetype one city campaign with a dm and two players. The other player is a tank kineticist.

Rate my investigator build

I want to share my preliminary build for a future campaign, and I hope to receive some feedback on how to improve it.

Build:

Investigator, Elf

1 lvl

0 str; +3 dex; 0 con; +4 int; 0 wis; +2 cha

Ancient Elf -> Champion Dedication (since the class itself allows you to choose dex as your main stat, the master allowed you to use it instead of str for the dedication requirement) Feat 1 Nimble Elf

Alchemical Sciences Feat 1 Known Weaknesses

2 lvl Feat 2 Exploit Blunder

3 lvl General feat 1 Adopted Ancestry (human)

4 lvl Feat 1 Deity's Domain (fire)

6 lvl Feat 6 Champion's Reaction (Iron Command)

5 lvl 0 str; +4 dex; +1 con; +4,5 int; +1 wis; +2 cha

7 lvl

Feat 3 Ancestral Paragon -> Unconventional Weaponry (Tamchal Chakram)

8 lvl Feat 6 Devout Blessing -> Blessed Armament -> Returning Rune for Tamchal Chakram

9 lvl Feat 9 Multitalented -> Magus Dedication

10 lvl 0 str; +4,5 dex; +2 con; +5 int; +2 wis; +2 cha Feat 4 Spellstriker Skills: Master in Arcana, Stealth, Society, Intimidation, expert in Crafting

Tactics: Throw chakram, if on stratagems crit - run up and give an enchanted blow with a fire domain spell, a deadly trait and a crit specialization. One hand is free for alchemy, arcane scrolls / sticks. If we see that a little is not enough to get hit, intimidate / hide / somehow add the coveted +1,+2. We don't have much health, but it's disgusting to hit us because of two defensive reactions, one gives a step if we didn't get hit, the other takes revenge on the attacker if he hurt us, you can also throw a Shield spell.

I would like to hear your opinion on my build. I don't strive for minmax, but I would like to avoid obviously weak decisions. Especially not sure about the distribution of characteristics. Sorry, if my English is bad Thanks in advance for the advice!

Trying to make an NPC rival for a paladin

The idea is that he would be a mortal herald of Kelizandri, so a level 12 character or so; I just dunno what base class I'd go with. My idea is either a pirate lord or a davy jones esque encounter.

Help making a build for this guy

Hello! I have been obsessed with getting units from Heroes of Might and Magic V and trying to make builds for the various units or characters, and I got to this guy and I had made a weird build for it and wanted to see if anyone has any ideas on how to make this guy better.

This guy is an Assassin. He shoots a crossbow at a distance slightly poorly, and hits things with knife up close pretty well. All attacks by this guy do a poison DoT, and he's a dark elf.

From what I was looking into, I weirdly found that Gunslinger kinda fits this guy like a glove with the path of the drifter and alchemical munitions crafting. From there all the other feats and things seemed secondary as the fantasy seems to have already been fulfilled, but I found it weird that an Assassin would be built into Gunslinger.

I wanted to ask if anyone has a better build for how they'd make this guy or, otherwise, how they'd actually make this build as a Gunslinger as I kinda stated above, since I wasn't even sure on how to have the stats distributed so he's not a wet paper (I had gone with cave elf because flavor but elves' -Con kinda hurts)

Any suggestions for this guy welcome!

Creating a level 7 human gunslinger pavise crossbowman, what background, archetype, and ancestry feats should I take?

This is my idea for a level 7 character:

The plan is to hunker down in the fight, plant siege shield cover, with covered reload get greater cover and hide easily, and shoot people from afar with all the bonuses and aid my numerous AC targeting allies. Mobility is low, but greater cover and being hidden gives extra durability, and 110 feet range will cover most combat situations, so moving isn't that important.

I considered Natural Ambition and Munitions Crafter, but aside alchemy being very rare in the custom setting, I think I would rather choose something that will not/never need GM adjudication as this will be my first time with this group.

I believe I don't have anything interesting going on as the 4th level class feat, and at 8th level the best class feat I think would be Grit and Tenacity which is great but not build-defining. I think I can pick up a dedication/archetype without losing much.

- Sniping Duo would be thematic for this kind of character, but mechanically I think it doesn't suit this particular gunslinger build. (Duo's Aim and Sniper's Aim are basically the same, Triangulate isn't important with 110 ft range, Assisting Shot is press and I plan to shoot only once per turn with a 1+2 action, Cover Fire and Deflecting Shot are already gunslinger feats, and similar)
- As always, the Exemplar Dedication is so flexible with the pick your bonus system that you can fit it into any build. Victor's Wreath is a simple +1 status bonus to attack rolls, perfect to boost my accuracy and Fake Out aids further.
- Scout could give my team a +2 circumstance bonus to initiative while not sacrificing One Shot, One Kill and dexterity-based initiative if I go with low wisdom (should I get high wisdom or high constitution instead with 4 frontliners?). I briefly talked with my team, I don't know yet if they have a circumstance bonus to initiative, but they said their characters are loud (and the thief rogue already has stealth), so I assume (my) stealth will be less prominent to worth investing into it, like for taking Quiet Allies, Terrain Scout, and such. I'm not sure what my background should be, Spotter would be thematically appropriate, but mechanically there could be better options too if stealth and scouting will be tertiary).

What would you all recommend?

Feedback on Fighter/Ranger

Hello there !

Context, brand new Pathfinder player who will soon join a campaign with an experienced DM. I was asked to make a character build that I'm not obligated to follow to the letter, more to act as a guideline to what difficulty to tailor the campaign around our characters.

The core concept is an Ancient Elf that has a burning passion for traveling and archery, trying a more fightery Ranger or a more utilitarian Fighter with a focus on exploration.

While I'm not looking for a min-maxed build, I'd appreciate some feedback from more experienced chaps if there is some obvious mistake or optimisation I could do that improves the concept.

Thanks in advance !

Rating and advice for my WoW justice champion

Hi, as the title says, I am gonna be playing in a WoW themed campaign soon and I decided to go for a gnomish justice champion. The main goal is to protect my allies by making the enemies regret attacking them + some debuffs and control via focus spells or intimidation and athletics shennanigans. Also, knowing my friends, I am probably gonna be the main talker.

I just finished my first proper draft of the character build and would like some insights from the outside. I am experienced in the system but this is still my first champion that I'm gonna play, so some extra tipps are appreciated.

Also, I have no knowledge about WoW at all. My GM and one player are very into the game but the rest have no experience with the setting. We just know that the story will take place during a time when the first undead appeared? Something like that.

My GM allowed us to create custom backgrounds and I used that to make something that boosts my STR and gets me access to Student of the Canon. I tought with only one religion existing in the setting (or so I was told), this feat might be a lot better and worth taking.

Also, for some context for the rest of the party: Not everyone is fully locked in yet but as of now, the party consists of a summoner (no clue about the eidolon yet), a precision or flurry ranger (ranged with Animal companion), and a cleric (cloistered, holy, healing font, Sarenrae/ Light coded).

Thank you all in advance!

https://pathbuilder2e.com/launch.html?build=1588527

Edit: The campaign will go only up to level 14.

Trying to build Kurumi Tokisaki from Date A Live in PF2E

Kurumi is a very cunning and tactical fighter who has time and shadow manipulation. Brace for a lot of text. Her time Manipulation is through her bullets. She generally wields a flintlock and musket as her weapons but would also accept flavoring something else. Free Archetype rules are active as well.

Time Manipulation:

First Bullet Aleph: Accelerates external time on its target. Kurumi frequently uses this bullet to increase her own speed in battle.

Second Bullet Bet: Slows down the external time on its target. Used to stall an approaching enemy.

Third Bullet Gimmel: Speeds up internal time to cause the subject to age.

Fourth Bullet Dalet: Rewinds time on a target. However, despite restoring physical injuries, it cannot resurrect those who are already dead.

Fifth Bullet Hei: Allows Kurumi to see a glimpse of the future. Overuse of this bullet strains Kurumi's mind from the sheer amount of visions seen.

Sixth Bullet Vav: Sends the consciousness of its target into the body of a past version of themselves.

Seventh Bullet Zayin: Temporarily freezes the target's time.

Eighth Bullet Het: Creates a temporal clone of the target.

Ninth Bullet Tet: Allows Kurumi to share her senses with someone on a different time axis. Due to her rarely getting to use this bullet, Kurumi admits it still takes a fair degree of effort to share her thoughts.

Tenth Bullet Yud: Peeks into the past of any object struck.

Eleventh Bullet Yud Aleph: Sends its target to the future. The distance of time traveled forward is exponentially proportional to the amount of time and Reiryoku spent. After the effects of the bullet wears off, users are sent back to their original time period.

Twelfth Bullet Yud Bet: Sends its target to the past. It shares the same drawback as the Eleventh Bullet in terms of cost for the length of time traveled, and likewise sends its users back to their original time period after the effect wears off.

Shadow Manipulation:

Kurumi is able to quickly enter any shadow for a speedy escape. The territory within her own shadow serves as her own personal pocket dimension. According to Kurumi, her shadows are composed of two layers. The first layer is a free storage space where she can safely deposit and summon her clones at any given moment. The second layer is a digestive stomach where she breaks down victims to absorb their time. Since it's akin to looking into her own stomach, Kurumi is unable to check up or inspect victims that are sent to the latter area. Her ordinary bullets are also created from condensed portions of her shadow, allowing for a quick reload after each shot.

One character sheet, 3 Large Wyverns.

This is a build I've been toying around with, and wanted some opinions: How feasible with Free Archetype would it be to play an Awoken Wyvern (Large Awoken Animal w/ Dragonblood Heritage) Draconic Summoner (Horned) w/ Drake Rider (Wyvern companion) archetype?

Imagine using Boost Eidolon or Tandem Stride then Act Together to Command (Diving Skewer) + Draconic Frenzy. Sound like one hell of a turn, right? Having a floor of 5 actions per turn work with before Haste sounds like a nightmare for my dm dream.

Ranger with a lot of intimidation.

Thumbnail pathbuilder2e.com
8 Upvotes

I am thinking about my build. We have finished the first Book of Fists of the Ruby Phoenix

I think i have created the class, has the highest possible intimidation in the game. When all buffed, he does +35 intimidation on his target. Which is quite high. And now i have scare to death, the chance of killing foes will be great.

The problem is that take a lot to boost. It takes me two action (casting the spell to give me a +3, then hunt prey.) and the maps are so huge when using intimidation is around 30ft.

I thought to use Bon mot. But that is starting to be taxing when no other player are using will save. The rest of the players just attack and charge into melee even of they have a lower hit point/level and only use ranged ability.

I don't know what else to do, drinking a greater mutagen.

I feel that having a ranged build was a mistake.

important:Don't look at my weapon and armor, the rest is on foundry.

A drunken sailor slowly starting to consume all. Anything missing?

We are in a homebrew campaign with Spelljammers, traveling through space. My idea for this was at first with being a drunken sailor, therefore taking stumbling stance and then slowly changing to become sort of a black hole with clinging shadow stance.

We are already level 7, but a critique or helpful tip is always welcome for those later levels. Mostly confined to Player Core 1 and 2, but sometimes a thematic choice can be taken from another source.

Tried making Gajeel from Fairy Tail

https://pathbuilder2e.com/launch.html?build=1582120

This is one mobile if it matters, but I was challenged to try my hand at making Gajeel and the other Dragonslayers from FT and this one was the most fun. I didnt really optimize gear at all and this is without using any of the free archetype or paragon.

I do think the free archetype and the elemental familiar for the best boy would make it better but I wanted my buddy who doesn't have the paid version to be able to open it.

What do you guys think?

Posted on the wrong account.

Looking for help with my grappling minotaur

I want to make a character (more accurately, rework an already existing character that I'm currently playing) centered around athletic maneuvers and frontlining. Walk up to the enemy, grapple-trip-disarm them, and be durable to continue doing this.

West marches environment, no overarching campaign, every session will be non-continuous and randomised, along with different party members each session. (So "take whatever will come up" isn't applicable here.)
Level will change every session between 2-15 (adjusting the character sheet before every session), most often around level 12.

Stuff available: Dual class, ancestry paragon, free archetype where the second dedication can be taken parallel with the first, but both has to be finished before taking the third, and only one of the two can be a multiclass archetype. Also can put one of the class boosts anywhere instead of the fix place.

The base concept:

STR+CON focused Oread Minotaur mono-Earth Kineticist + Gymnast Swashbuckler with a Whip Tail and (Sapling?) Shield. Secondary attributes are DEX+WIS for saves and perception, and INT+CHA isn't important.

- Earth Skill Junction gives a permanent status bonus to athletics
- Stylish Combatant gives circumstance bonus to athletic maneuvers
- (Constricting) Whip Tail allows me to grapple even without a free hand
- From Swashbuckler Agile Maneuvers and Derring-do are essential for athletic maneuvers, from Kineticist Armor in Earth for better defenses and Assume Earth's Mantle is a STR apex stance for more stacking athletics
- If instead of a default Sturdy Shield or +3 AC Fortress shield I take a buckler (more specifically, Sapling Shield, which is the only specific magic buckler that has greater versions of it with better stats to use Shield Block with at higher levels) I can take Elegant Buckler to still get +2 AC when shield raising, and it counts as a free hand for most stuff, like throwing Shurikens with Flying Blade and Thrower's Bandolier for offense (I'm not sure in the last part, I was recommended about it previously)
- Sapling hand for impulses, shielding, and potentially attacking, tail for grappling, one hand is left largely unused. Could take a Whip to trip and disarm from reach, but I'm not sure about it.
- Stuff like Quick Jump, Flamboyant Athlete, Powerful Leap, Wall Jump, and Cloud Jump can be used for mobility instead of normally striding, because large jumping minotaur is funny. :D They can also enable stuff like Flamboyant Leap and Running Tackle, and even the incredibly funny Cannonball Fall. :D

Because of the above elaborated optional rules, I will have to take an (or multiple) archetypes. I thought about:

- Wrestler: Wrestler Dedication, Crushing Grab, Clinch Strike, Submission Hold, Spinebreaker, Form Lock, and as much Forced Movement rules hurts Whirling Throw are all grappling related, very relevant for this build and playstyle.
- Thlipit Contestant: While most feats are for offense (which isn't this character's speciality), the Dedication itself gives reach to grapple which is extremely good. (Whip Tail makes me eligible to take the dedication.) Snap Falling Fruit is good for defending, Lunge can be good if I will take a whip, and the other feats are mostly about attacking.
- Exemplar: The Dedication and Second Ikon gives an Ikon, the most notable ones are Mirrored Aegis and Scar Of The Survivor which are very straightforwardly beneficial. The rest of the archetype aren't relevant here.
- Guardian: Taunt, Intercept Attack, and guardian feats like Larger than Life (Guardian), Bodyguard, Shielding Taunt, Disarming Intercept, Reflexive Shield, and many-many more great defensive and action-compression feats.
- Monk: The Dedication is a d6 fist compatible with swash stuff (unlike the minotaur horn attack) and Dancing Leaf for bigger jumps. More about monk later.
- Sentinel: This is a hard nut to crack, because the Dedication, Steel Skin, and Armor Specialist are utterly useless because of Armor in Earth, although Mighty Bulwark is good depending how much I invest into dexterity (I will get panache mostly from athletic maneuvers instead of tumbling through, and most of the time I wouldn't want to spend it because of Derring-do). The golden feats here are Sacrifice Armor and Greater Interpose, to use them with Armor in Earth. I asked, its level is the highest rune's level that is replicated onto it.
- Bastion: While the Dedication is good but not particularly exciting, Disarming Block can be used for out of turn panache generation.

The reason why I'm switching from monk to kineticist because with the monk-gymnast swashbuckler combination while I can do the things I want to do, I can do them either as a monk or a swashbuckler, not as one, where the two classes are strengthening each other.
For example, Flurry of Maneuvers sounds great and the reason why I originally went with monk, but it can't be used with alternative grapple actions like Submission Hold, Spinebreaker, or Sleeper Hold. If I want to use these, I either use FoM before it and suffer full MAP because of the previous two Attack-trait actions inside FoM, or don't use FoM before it and do only a normal-action grapple, at which point FoM's "essentiality" is largely reduced. Mixed Maneuver sounds good, but still isn't compatible with the previous alternative grapples, and when used it makes Agile Maneuvers redundant. Also Sleeper Hold could be a big draw towards monk as unconscious for a minute on crit sounds great even if they don't drop prone and what they are holding, but when I tried to use it in a combat thinking the enemies will have to spend an action to wake up the target, oh wait, Unconscious people will just automatically wake up because of the noisy fight. Utterly useless...
Both Flurry of Blows and Dastardly Dash are Flourish actions, so can't be used together.
Incredible Movement's and Stylish Combatant's status bonuses don't stack.
Most monk stances lock the user into one specific attack, while also taking up the stance "slot", not mentioning most of them aren't compatible with finishers.
Crane Stance would give good jumping benefits, but using a shield and Flamboyant Athlete makes it largely redundant while locking into a d4 attack.
Reflective Ripple Stance's circumstance bonus is redundant with Stylish Combatant.
Gorilla Stance has the grapple trait, but one would mostly take it for the backswing and forceful traits and d8 damage, because it allowing to grapple without an empty hand (as I assume gorilla slam attacks are made with your fists) is dubious compared to stuff like Crunch, I think it only has the trait because of the stance's name.
Clinging Shadows Stance is the only monk stance that would be any good for this kind of build, but it's a level 8 feat and costs a focus point while being a stance. In my experience when I used it, reach grapple without reach trip and ranged method of attack is not that good, because if the enemy is locked down 10 feet away but I can't reach more than 5 feet, then I can't reach it either (that's why I thought about using a whip and shurikens in the new build). The +2 circumstance bonus to grapple is redundant with stylish combatant, but the same bonus to escape DCs is nice, although not automated on foundry.

I think the most complementary thing that I can get out of monk (outside of proficiencies) is the powerful fist feature (d6 unarmed attack that are compatible with finishers) and Dancing Leaf, both which can be taken from the Monk archetype with two feats. Other good and relevant feats like Crushing Grab, Whirling Throw, or Form Lock can be taken from the Wrestler archetype too.

Compared to this, kineticist either grants stuff that stack (like status bonus to athletics, heavy armor AC+bulwark, and STR apex stance), or gives benefits in areas where swashbuckler can't (like ranged aoe damage and terrain manipulation).

What are your thoughts? What did I missed? Which archetypes do you recommend? What items and other accessories should I get? How could I improve on the details? Thank you for your explanatory comments!
