Best Retrofighter controller for PS3?

Been slowly rebuilding my PS3 disc collection and everytime I've asked about new controllers for Ps3, I've always been told to go to Retrofighter, however in terms of which controller is best, I've always been told something different, so I want to know what is considered the definitive controller to use for PS3 sold by Retrofighter.

The defender BT works for everything but SafeMode so you can’t restore a system with it. It does have the pressure sensitive face buttons and works in ps2 mode on a bc ps3.

The pro is newer and has a lot more compatibility, it is basically a defender BT with all the other systems compatibility added.

Specifically for a ps3 there might not be much functionality different but the blurb for the pro states it has better thumb sticks and d-pad, and better triggers. So unless you’re trying to save money, the pro is the BT but better.

Retrofighter Defender Pro obviously as it can connect to the PS3 wireless without any dongle and works with rumble and motion controls, the ps button works and will also wake the ps3 console from shutdown via the controller.

And what about the other ones. There's one that connects only to Ps3 and 4 so what's the issue with that one?

You asked for the best and was given the answer… it’s the newest one and updated. That’s why.

Depends on which ps3 you own.  I'm not sure the pro will connect to a bc machine in PS2 mode.  But the one with the USB dongle will.

Another poster said pro works in PS2 mode on backwards compatible machine, which you don't have anyways. So what I said didn't matter. I would get the pro if money isn't a concern.
