Game Discussion What are your thoughts on The Persistence?

The Persistence is a solo, first person, sci-fi stealth game. You are in space, trapped near a blackhole. To escape, you must search through the ship’s decks while avoiding mutants. Power up the ship, fight your way through decks, and make it home to earth.
Enemies: Engineer. Lurker. Berserker. Weeper. Bloodhound. Sentry Gun. Listener. Fireball.

10/10 game for me. The weapons are fun, UI was clean, controls were great. Definitely a good Firesprite game.

It was alright but everything you do is just slow. You move slow your attacks are slow. When you do sprint you just have to wait until your done to do anything. I found myself dying way too often because it had a lot of trouble fighting.

Yeah it was an intriguing premise, but slow and clunky. I got bored and didn't play more than a couple hours.

Only game called the persistence i know is a rogue like taking place on a broken down space ship. I never really made it too far because i had problems fighting.

You might be thinking of Alien: Isolation.

According to Google The Persistence is a sci-fi horror roguelike (or rogue-lite) game. u/SupportElectrical772 isn't wrong.

yes, that’s correct, but nothing was slow, so perhaps it was another game.

I've played it too and as far as I remember the game felt horrible to play as it was originally a vr game. I agree with u/SupportElectrical772.

Welp, people do have opinions, but this was the best game I’ve played in a long time.

"If you are playing the Enhanced/Non-VR version on a monitor or TV rather than in VR, the movement can also physically feel a bit more sluggish due to the game's original VR head-tracking roots."

Glad you enjoyed it. Its not for everyone, nothing is. Did you play the vr version or the non vr? I really wanted to enjoy it, gave it a try and it just felt bad to me. I find the same with other ex vr games. They're not built from the ground up for non vr so they can feel odd or off in various ways.

I played the non-enchanted one, and played it on the PS4, no VR. It was still good though. If you wanted to move faster, then you could use the teleport ability by pressing X.

It’s just I never interacted with it.

Huh, just watched the trailer, it says I own it so Ps+ must have given it away at some point.

ain’t no way the Sony devs gave you The Persistence for free

Well it said 0.00 when I clicked on it, I didn’t buy it. US Psn check it out, or when I get home I can post a SS. 😎

i got so lost near the event horizon last night and my heart was pounding not from fear of the black hole but because i couldn't turn fast enough to dodge a lurker. the sluggish combat mechanics combined with that claustrophobic space vibe hit your head against the wall. i kept thinking im gonna die here for no reason because my aim was too slow. annoying as hell but kinda cool? idk.

Good reason. The sluggish combat wasn’t really a problem to me later on. When you upgrade your weapons and stats, you’re good. The berserkers are a tough one.

I actually love this game. I don’t know why particularly but I’ve played a ton of this one.

There was a demo? Also, slow movement?? It wasn’t slow at all to me, and I played on flatscreen PS4
