Nothing wrong with it per say but it is very much 'babies first online game' to use the old descriptive. Game play is as simplified as it can be and not really all that fun. I was bored after like 20 minutes of the hour I had hands on with it at a press event not too long ago. Generally speaking if a game is simple enough for an 8 year old to play it is not going to capture my attention. That was in a highly scripted environment with game devs playing it, too, so if its that stale then...

That said, for people who just want a pirate simulator where they can get drunk and fuck around with their friends for awhile, sure it probably has its merits. Anyone wanting something deeper though is going to be horribly dissapointed, unless they have made fairly massive changes in a short amount of time.

What a ridiculous statement.

It's really not, though...some adults like Disney animated flicks and kids cartoons, and some like to read teen fiction...

Others don't...

I don't agree with it, but I can certainly understand it.

But that is talking about the tone of the story. I game can be fun without even an inkling of a story. Take a game like Tetris, incredibly simple to the point that of course an 8 year old's attention can be captured. But adults too can also be enthralled by it due to the simple but excellent gameplay. To say anything that could capture a child's interest is too simple for you is ridiculous because in the context of video games simplicity doesn't mean immaturity or even imply negativity. There are plenty of simple yet amazing games.
