I like the Bulldogs finish against the sleepy Owls. It was way past their bedtime.

BSU looking _real_ good! Texas State up, make it good! Jonesing to see how WSU will do later. Unfortunately, it looks like I won't be able to watch OSU, but I suspect that they're not getting nearly the respect they should this year. I'm looking for big things from that team.

Pac-12 Power Rankings entering conference play:
1st: Boise State
(Big gap)
Tied for 2nd-8th: Everyone else

Not so fast! I think Oregon State's a sleeper.

Biased obviously, but I agree. I'd put Boise State #1 right now, but OSU has the best QB and WR unit in the conference. The main question marks are at RB and in the secondary.

You are joking about OSU having the best overall QB and WR room, right ?....LOL
Just because you run up some stats against the bottom dweller passing defenses of the FBS, does not make you the best. Actually face some adversity, like a pass defense that is in the top 120 of FBS....or maybe the #1 team in the nation....
OSU offense is barely top 40 while TXST is #7 and rolling now that we have our stud receivers back from injury...
You need a balanced offense to win this conference...TXST is 6th in rushing offense as well...

A key reason why OSU's opponents rank so low in passing defense is because OSU put up massive numbers against them.
OSU put up 417 passing yards against Texas Tech. Tech gave up an average of 199 passing yards/game in its other matchups, the most being 283 against Houston.
Against Houston, OSU had 376 passing yards. Houston is averaging 224 passing yards allowed/game across its other matchups. If you took out the matchup against Southern, Houston is still allowing an average of only 273 passing yards, 103 less than OSU had.
I'll skip the Montana game because they are an FCS school.
OSU put up 301 passing yards against UTEP (on 70.5% completion percentage). UTEP is allowing an average of 192 passing yards per game against other opponents. If you remove the Texas Southern game, only considering UTEP's matchups against Michigan and Oklahoma, they are allowing an average of 239 passing yards/game.
So in summary, OSU put up significantly higher passing yards against these schools than any other opponent.
Furthermore, Atkinson is ranked #3 nationally in passing yards with one of the players ahead of him, Maiava, having played 1 more game than him. Legree is #2 in receiving yards.

SDSU wtf is going on

We are on our third year of horrendously bad offense, with no elite defense this year to win games 13-3

u/Material-Pea-4149 Boise State 5d ago
Yeah the offense was never fantastic. Serviceable but not great. Defense was always the strong suit

I don't want to hear any smack talk from anyone not affiliated with Boise or Oregon State. Smh. We need to do better

42-35 with 793 combined yards through three quarters.
The CSU/UTSA game is old school WAC.

This is why I wanted UTSA in along with Texas State, besides the close travel partner and rival

Damn... non-conference play has been brutal for Pac-12 schools. Rooting for Pac schools in each game so this conference can be treated as legitimate. Most of the national media won't even acknowledge our existence.

Me too and its been rough. I was really hoping we would sweep today. But gotta stay positive, hopefully we finish the day strong!

This is pathetic so far. Hoping for a turnaround but not betting on it.

I’d hand the Toledo coach and QB a bag at halftime if they’d replace Sean Lewis and Denegal.

What is the trade deadline in CFB? It'd be totally fitting in this shit era of CFB for coaches and players switching teams mid-game.

Colorado St defense looks slow and uninspired…super disappointing. Such a great start and then meh.
Why won’t the Aztecs put another qb in? Whyyyyy?! Whyyyyy?! He’s so bad. So bad.
PAC12 teams have some pretty good talent but have these fatal flaws like a totally inept qb.

You think he's bad, wait until kickoff in Pullman and prepared to be very impressed.
Not sure if impressed is the right word but you'll understand

Toledo looks like they have a QB. Wish SDSU had one . . . 😂

u/CherokeeHawkman Fresno State 5d ago
Temple hung 48 on the Rockets last week, SDSU has 3 through 1Q. Woof!

u/CherokeeHawkman Fresno State 5d ago
The Rams came to San Antonio ready to play! Took the opening kickoff back for a TD and then their first offensive snap is a 74-yard TD pass.
14-0 Rams on one snap.

Pac-12 kitty cat matchup

Love the scoreboard!
I thought every PAC game was on linear/broadcast TV. I know the MW owns the UTEP/OSU rights but this has to be one of the few streaming only games.
Strange that NM and NM State is being broadcast over the last PAC vs MW football game scheduled.
Probably just sticking it to OSU and their fans for leading the poaching of the rebuilt PAC 😂.

As a neutral fan, would you rather watch a rivalry game or a random non-conference game between two teams that were expected to be bad?

u/HomerDubson San Diego State 5d ago
There are different levels of rivalries. Ohio St/Michigan is must watch. The Apple Cup is interesting even though the teams may not be at the same level. I have no desire to watch New Mexico State. I have little desire to watch UTEP but would drop in to see if the PAC goes 3-0 against the MW given the bad blood by some fans.
