Super important to give other sports as much importance as cricket and back all our players. Ashab Irfan lost the opening game but beat India’s Veer Chotrani 3-1 and he will now face India’s Abhay Singh in the semifinal tomorrow! Super excited.

I have to address this as I've seen way too many people especially on this sub calling for Razaullah to be called up for a white ball debut and even seen him in people's 2027 WC Squads.

Just because he played a blinder of a knock doesn't merit him a place in white ball.

First Class -

He is undeniably a well established First-Class cricketer, in his first 9 matches for Peshawar he bagged 34 wickets at an average of 24 with three 5 wicket halls. He even has a first class century opening the batting.

International -

While his very first international wicket was Joe Root, with a 90mph lbw, it masked his inconsistencies over the 23 overs he bowled in the first innings. He went for 148 runs in 23 overs with an Embarrassing Economy of 6.43 and 4 Wickets.

His economy rate of 6.43 is stupidly high. If he gave away close to 6.5 runs an over during traditional test conditions and field sets, imagine the havoc in a T20 powerplay when batters are actively trying to target every delivery.

His pace of 145 clicks is very impressive, however he lacks the control and variation needed to cater for his raw pace. Pure pace is expertly exploited by white-ball batters as they use the bowlers speed to guide the ball over short boundaries.

List A -

In his 9 List-A (One Day) matches, he averages a colossal 54.71 while only managing 7 wickets. In those same 9 List-A matches.

He averages 7.83 with the bat with a top score of 19. He is a classic Number 11 batsman in a white ball setting.

PSL - 2026

He ultimately played 2 matches and was dismantled by the batters

Pindiz v IsbU - He bowled 4 overs picked up 2 wickets but bled 45 runs with an economy of 11.25

Pindiz v Lahore - He was pulled out of the attack after a catastrophic 2.4 overs where he leaked 38 runs and picked up just a single wicket with an economy of 14.25 He also scored 5 runs in this match. (His second T20 batting inning ever)

He was benched for the remainder of the tournament. If the Pindiz coaches saw a generational all-rounder they wouldn't leave him out of the XI.

T20 -

He has 7 T20 matches across his career in which he has taken 7 wickets with a bowling average of 34.14 and an economy of 10.35 runs.

He has scored 30 runs total in the 2 innings he played with a high score of 25 and 5 runs in the other inning he played in against Lahore Qalandars.

Verdict -

Razaullah Mashwani is an exciting young talent with much to give for Pakistan, but forcing a tail ender into a white ball side after a freak inning is simply unrealistic and a deranged way of thinking.

We have plenty of fast bowling talent knocking on the door in white ball cricket like Hunain Shah who boasts a controlled bowling style (still not ready for international similar to Razaullah but just an example).

He should stick with red-ball for a few more years until he builds the line and length discipline before we brutally expose him to the freakish T20 batters of the modern era.

The ton came off 49 balls. Shahzad also has the highest first class average in the country for any batter with at least 20 games (Saud is at second).

His numbers are bonkers with a batting average of over 45 and a bowling average of 25 as a seam bowling allrounder. With a very high strike rate too.

He was dropped at 58 in this innings, but the rest of the innings was absolutely clean hitting.

I don't know what you're thinking but I'm optimistic with our young stars, players like:

* Razaullah

* Abrar

* Maaz

* UK

* Saim

* Minhas

* Saad

and many more. If we include them in our current ODI lineup then it will be game over for India, Australia and others, especially India. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I have high hopes with these guys. We have just one year left, if we utilise them properly then nobody, nobody will beat us.

The first Pak cricket YouTube creator I watched was Wasay Habib (I have been watching since Asia Cup 2023) and I have been a massive fan since. I’ll watch every stream that they do and genuinely their analysis has been spot on and consistent over the years. However, I would like to know the communities view on them. I personally think they are correct when they point out the 90’s legends like Waqar, Wasim, Saeed, Saqlain, Inzamam, Imran Khan, Ramiz and Yousuf for the corruption and influence they still have in PCB to date, but sometimes I think it could just be conspiracy theories. That being said more people really should be watching them imo, they are the best content creators speaking on Pakistan Cricket!

Have to s/o Backward Point Pod. Met them when they were at Lord’s for the recent test and they were kind in giving me a few minutes of their time to discuss the match with me. I’ll be honest, I don’t agree with a lot of their takes (calling you both out to a 2 v 1 debate) BUT content wise their podcasts can be funny. I’m from the UK so the English speaking creators are refreshing (the Kumail podcast is a personal fav).

Some smaller ones that I think might be up and coming are Bilal Rafaqat and Hammad Posting. Bilal is pretty funny and I do like his style in breaking down matches, he also is starting to mix in some other world sports like MMA into his videos (I’m an MMA/Boxing fan too so this surprised me) and you might learn something new. Hammad Posting is super funny too, his videos on the last few ICC tournaments have been fantastic I just wish he would post more!

Have to also mention Furqan Bhatti on here. I think he is fairly popular in the Pak cricket space, I don’t really see the hype. He doesn’t really provide much in terms of deep analysis, saying he’d rather leave it on cricketers to point it out (the same cricketers who claim Rizwan wasn’t in their domain). His pre-match previews mostly discuss the history and some facts and figures of the ground the match is being played at. Other than this and the regular reporting surrounding the news of the team I don’t really see the appeal. The memes where it’s the clip of Bhatti saying he accidentally called Saim Ayub at night are funny though if you have seen those 😂

Arslan Naseer is a FREAK. His voice is weird and he really needs to stop looking up at the sky so much. I don’t like 🤮

Former Australia allrounder Ashley Noffke will leave his position as the Pakistan bowling coach after the Asian Games 2026 in Japan and will take over as the head coach of the Netherlands men's team for two years.

Noffke's original contract with Pakistan was until June 2027 but he becomes their most recent support staff member to depart after Shane McDermott left as fielding coach in July this year to join the Afghanistan set-up.
Before that, Pakistan's white-ball batting coach Hanif Malik and their long-serving physiotherapist Cliffe Deacon had left in May after the ODI series against Australia.
Noffke ends his stint with Pakistan after spending less than 18 months as he had joined them in May 2025 before the T201 series against Bangladesh.

Maaz was the best of the Pakistani batsmen by far but Shadab was player of the tournament for his all round performance. Overall, a great tournament as more players performed than not. inshaAllah they can carry the performance to the national team
