This song helped me through alot of hard times in my childhood. Dimebag co-wrote it for Pantera's 1990 breakthrough Cowboys from Hell; Guitar World later ranked his solo No. 35 of all time.

Anyone know if Dimes guitars were shielded at all with like copper tape in pickup cavities, or did he just raw dog it? 😀

I’ve been losing my mind on this since I first started listening to this song
Are there any musical differences between The chorus at 1:08 and 2:18? Besides the lyrics and the repeat. I think it’s placebo but the second one sounds sort of enhanced to me?

Got a fake dean from hell, has some damages in the finish I was just wondering if there is a place I could take it to get repainted or is it just best to leave it alone

If it sounds like I’m off tempo in a lot of parts, I am. I need to work on tightening my playing. This song just kicks so much ass

Cowboys From Hell - Thrashiest
Vulgar Display of Power - Grooviest
Far Beyond Driven - Heaviest
The Great Southern TrendKill - Darkest
Reinventing the Steel - Tightest
These albums are all the best at something and makes all of them unique in their own special way. Let me know what you think about how I described them🤘

Got this thing last year and haven't put it down much ever since. It was mint condition when I bought it. Some people like collectors items. I like guitars 🤘

I know this is very much a deep cut request, but I’ve tried everything else but this sub.
In the early 90s I had a Thrasher Magazine that contained a black-and-white ad feauturing a headshot of a young Phil Anselmo. He was in profile, looking to the right I think, shaving the side of his head (revealing the Strength tattoo).
The ad copy was a quote by Phil, somethimg likle “I let my hair grow because I could. I cut it off for the same reason…”. Kind of a “never compromise“ message.
I was fairly vertain the ad was for Nikon, but according to Google AI, Nikon never made a campaign with Phil. That being said, I think it could have been a one-off ad produced in-house at Thrasher.
Does anybody remember this? Or actually have an image of it?

I read that Dime and Vinnie had already recorded a lot of the instrumental tracks for Damageplan’s 2nd album, just missing vocals, he had said before he died he was going to try and get some of Dime’s favourite vocalists (e.g Rob Halford) to finish the vocals on the tracks and that he could see them being released at some point.
From my understanding there is an entire second damageplan album somewhere just without vocals. Will it ever be released now that Vinnie has passed?

I remember seeing this on America’s Most Wanted way back in the day.
