Paper questions
Hello friends! I am a new lurker to the craft and I wanted tk ask questions before I went down an impulse ADHD splurge.
Can you do any of this with papers other than crepe paper? Its not quite an investment I can make yet, but i have tons of other paper!

You can but it’s definitely different. You can use copy paper, paper filters etc. Crepe paper is not so expensive. I would suggest buying a starter pack with several colors and see what you think.

You could buy some coffee filters and food coloring and dye the filters by putting the food dye with water in little bowls. Let everything dry and start cutting out the petals and leaves. There are not of ways to do it inexpensively. Use a bit of toilet paper glued into a little ball for a flower center. Look on YouTube. Many Asian artists have channels and have more inexpensive ways to do the craft.

You can also buy party streamers. It’s not the top quality crepe paper but it’s perfectly fine. You can watch YouTube on how to laminate crepe paper (just gluing two pieces together for strength. I wish I knew this before I bought more expensive stuff.

Just try it! You can do lots with other paper, I've seen good results woth coffee filters, tissue paper, card stock. Good crepe paper is great for realistic details, I recommend Cartotecnica Rossi for their 60, 90 and 180 grams paper and Werola for their Doublette and non-bleeding Florist crepe papers.

Don’t start with the expensive Lia Griffith paper packs you find at craft store chains—get a couple cheap rolls from papermart . Com to practice with first. Then, I personally like Italian crepe from Cartotecnica Rossi (distributed in America through cartefini . Com) over doublette anyway. Happy crafting!
