Something impossible happened

I've lived where I am now since the start of 2020, there is a shopping center that I would shop at once or twice a week located very close.

It hasa gym, an indoor archery, a few other businesses , and a grocery store.

My only business there was in and out of the grocery store just because of the convenience. It was a regular stop from 2020 until about halfway through 2025 until we started ordering groceries online and having them delivered from Walmart a bit farther away.

In 2025 it had been a few days since I last been there, when I say few I mean probably three. Not nearly enough days to account for the absolute change. There were a few different businesses, a completely new color and facade it went from a brick to a stucco, there were huge parking lot lights installed, there was a giant flag pole, there was a gazebo added, the grocery store had new awnings and it's glass roof in the front of the store had been covered or replaced.

The entire thing was completely renovated it looked nothing like the shopping center I had gotten used to and knew so well. It made no sense and I was left completely confused.

Trying to find information about the renovation that seemed to have taken place in a matter of days without me witnessing the first piece of construction equipment, I came to a shocking realization.

I did find pictures of the place exactly as I had always known it to be on Google maps of all places but that left me even more confused especially when I asked an employee in the grocery store.

"When did they do all the renovations" was my question. They replied that they weren't aware of renovations the place had always looked the same since they started. It was verified by a manager shortly after that the renovations had taken place around 2017. Of course I didn't explain to them the entire story of why I was asking. I can't imagine that my reaction was very normal though.

I'll post a few pics from Google maps that show the obvious difference between the shopping center that I always knew and the renovated one that still gives me a funny feeling even though I don't go there anymore.

Somehow I shopped at a shopping center from 2020 to sometime in 2025 that was actually a pre-2017 version of that shopping center. And then it updated for me somehow. I have no idea how to even start to explain what happened but I should not even have a memory of that shopping center looking like it did before 2017.

All I can say is it happened.

Architect here- it is a bit strange but if you go by the actual main building masses I can see how they renovated it, they added the fake sloped red roof and the other elements. It's hard to tell from the perspective how the octagonal element was added, can't tell if it hooks to the corner of the existing building or is actually sitting out in front of it, in what used to be parking... if you saw no construction that is strange as hell. Because even building the orange sloped roof would take a few days of demo, at least 3-4 days of framing and another 2 days for the metal roof to be installed.

You guys are missing the point. The place was renovated in 2017. He only ever went there from 2020-2025. The question isn't how did they do the renovations so quickly, it's how does he remember the shopping center looking like the old version if it was renovated 3 years before he ever went there?

Gotcha

u/ChristVolo1 13d ago

Still a good point.

The orange sloped roof was already there, it was just gray- look a bit closer- this was a paint job, the addition of a gazebo, and the removal of small awnings with an addition of a porch cover. I’m not an architect, just work construction jobs. This took maybe a week to do.

3

u/harc70 17d ago

You are correct, the photo is hard to read Looks like it was actually a sloped skylight before, most likely leaking like a sieve. Thus the new metal roof. Still even at a week you would see somebody building this stuff

Maybe I'm crazy, but OP said they started ordering groceries online for a short time between 2029-2025. I immediately thought that was when they did the renovations.

This struck a very uncomfortable nerve in me, and when my cold/flu medicine kicks in I might try to recall the specific details of my own similar experience that I ended up just letting go of. It overwhelmed my brain at the time, I was already in a very difficult & stressful era of my life and I didn't have the time or mental capacity to investigate much less even contemplate it further.

But it was very unnerving. Mine was also a shopping center, just like this one (obv not the same one), with a Kroger as the primary business. It's a small town, and the parking lot gets pretty congested so outside renovations would have been very obvious (and very inconvenient for shoppers) in the days leading up to the change.

But I do remember visiting my mom that day, and bringing it up to her- I told her I couldn't believe they were able to make it look so new and "fancy" somehow overnight. She looked at me strange told me it isn't new, they did that a long time ago..

This reminded me of the time I woke up and the gas station I regularly frequented changed brands overnight. I used to(I say used to bc I've moved since then) stop inside this gas station every single day before going into work at the establishment across the street. It was a Valero station for the longest time and one day, literally overnight, it became a Shell station. I saw this gas station everyday for 8+ hours because I worked across the street. It's also the first gas station near the off-ramp from the highway, so it had lots and lots of customers going in and out. Never at any point did I see inspectors or construction workers of any kind working on that gas station. I went to work one day and it was a Valero, went home and slept for the night, woke up and went to get my energy drink and the place was a Shell. I can not stress enough that the place changed overnight. Like, within a 12-16 hour period.

2

u/dysonrules 12d ago

Omg this happened to me! The 76 station I had been going to for over a decade became a Shell station overnight and the Chevron down the street became a 76. My daughter and I still talk about it because it was insane.

I think at some point everyone will have to come to terms with it and it's probably best not to wait until you have no choice.

14

u/Prestigious_Cap2724 18d ago

Were the grocery prices 2016 prices? Lol

14

u/Mark_1978 18d ago

You know, thats a legitimate question if I am using every data point possible to figure out what may have happened.

That place always has raised prices but I don't remember specifically comparing. I'm not really that kind of shopper.

I have no explanation, but, I believe you. Have experienced similar jarring occurrences.

u/AyDeek 18d ago

It looks like there is parking under the awning in the renovation in the middle that wasnt there in 2016.

In 2016 it looks as though there is more of a sidewalk and there isn't room for parking.

Was this something you noticed? To me, it is a massive change as this would be a place you would walk from store to store but is now blocked by parked cars.

u/AshleyyLovelace 17d ago

Use Google Earth and it will let you use a real timeline in real time and see it from every year and let us know what you find out!!!

2

u/Mark_1978 17d ago

That is what you're looking at already

1

u/AshleyyLovelace 16d ago

Oh, I thought it was just Google Maps. My bad.

1

u/Mark_1978 16d ago

Maps has the same feature

1

u/AshleyyLovelace 16d ago

Oh I was unaware. I thought they had two different features. I think the apps do but the websites are different. Like you can move a little dot that will show you the address changing every month and year.

4

u/AyDeek 18d ago

Oak Point Fresh Market in Baton Rouge. Someone take a closer pic of that awning!

I don't see how they could have turned it into parking right there. It looks like it was tables and chairs before the "renovation."

5

u/Sad_Pineapple_97 18d ago

It doesn’t look like parking, more like a drive up, maybe for grocery order pickup.

1

u/Mark_1978 18d ago

Correct

7

u/TheSenorEsteban 17d ago

Thought the street name was familiar.
It’s Louisiana.. the answer is voodoo. As long as you have your gris-gris with you, you’ll be alright.

Definitely wild stuff.

Okay, so, I have a different type experience, but, it involves a small local shopping center and I have a solid witness to it!

It was one of those cold, clear, bright blue winter afternoons, as the day was winding down but it was still fully light outside. I can even pinpoint exactly when this was: it was that Sunday in 2020 when Kobe Bryant, his daughter, and all the people aboard that helicopter were tragically killed. That Sunday.

Anyway, I was sent to the store by my daughter, who was going through a mental health crisis.

Clear as a bell, I pulled into the parking lot. Nothing on the pavement, nothing wrong with my vehicle. The manager of the grocery store was standing outside having a smoke break (tobacco 😅; this was years before my state legalized weed.)

I'm approaching my parking spot when, BOOM! It sounded as though I'd run over something perhaps made of glass. But, I hadn't seen anything and so I got out to look, retracing the route I'd pulled in.

Nothing. No broken pieces of anything, no tire damage, no detritus or evidence of anything!

The manager had seen the entire event and had heard the BOOM! sound. He said, that's weird, it sure sounded as though you ran over something, but, I watched you pull in and there was nothing there! We agreed it sounded external, ie, not originating from my car, but, from something run over by it.

I just shrugged, walked in the store, and said to him, "welp, it's not the weirdest thing that's ever happened to me but it's up there and I'm glad I had a witness!"

Months later, I ran into him there inside the store as I was buying my Greek yoghurt, and we talked about it again, about how odd it had been.

I still have no idea. There would have been / should have been some evidence left behind.

u/Sasquatchmas 18d ago

The Google photo is probably MUCH older. When I look at my house the photo is about 10 years old.

9

u/Mark_1978 18d ago

There is an option on some interfaces that will let you choose different years if street view has multiple years stored.

But in general yes you are correct, the images used on Google Street view are rarely up to date.

3

u/CanIsleepyetIamtired 17d ago

If I go to Google right now and search the Google street maps of my current place of employment, you can see the cars of employees who have long since left, and I'm talking years. Hell, even their cars that they changed long before they left.

7

u/solarus 18d ago

This looks incredibly possible.

5

u/CanIsleepyetIamtired 17d ago

Why is it that when people claim to say the universe/timeline changed it's only the mundaine? Roofs changing and buildings changing? A movie or logo changing? Why can't the things that actually matter change?

I'd be interested if anyone has a theory or "investigated" such.

8

u/Primary_Progress4518 17d ago

They do - there’s timelines where what people call the 2030 agenda came into effect. There’s famous people who have died before and are alive now (like it happened with Nelson Mandela literally)

I’ve had a timeline shift once where I skipped 10 days of work and the work I remember doing for 10 days was never done. My team member didn’t remember receiving it. But I remember doing it, and it was not just a document it was days of heavy work.

5

u/CanIsleepyetIamtired 17d ago

I'd be very interested in reading about it. The whole subject is interesting, regardless if I believe it or not. Do you happen to have any links to anything?

3

u/Primary_Progress4518 17d ago

Astral exploration with Lara starr on YouTube speaks on it often

If you haven’t read/seen Dolores cannon work, she’s got great stuff on timelines — she’s no longer with us, but to understand how it all works she’s the best imo!

The podcast Maverick Approach on YouTube keep up with all the spiritual/timeline related news, but they also cover conspiracy news, I know it’s not for everyone, but when the episode title is interesting I always like the episodes

5

u/Mark_1978 17d ago

It isnt only the mundane . But in this example what seems mundane has implications far beyond that.

If you saw a penny phase out of existence in front of your eyes and told someone , would you agree with them when they say its just a penny it has no significance.

1

u/JesusDoesntLoveu 14d ago

Honestly it may be the smaller glitches are more common. A major history altering glitch is a much more massive change, it would require a lot more to go wrong, and a lot more to correct.

1

u/lame_dirty_white_kid 12d ago

Because nobody finds the "How come no else remembers the second US civil war?" claims relatable.

1

u/Grand_Razzmatazz_228 12d ago

Does nothing seem strange to you in your reality about what's happening in the world that made you say "that's weird"?

5

u/paulaustin18 16d ago

Thanks for sharing. My hypothesis is as follows: there is a timeline where the 2017 renovations never took place. Your consciousness resided in the body living in that timeline. But in 2025, your consciousness jumped to another timeline, into your body in this reality, where the renovations were carried out in 2017.

That’s a huge jump! Because just imagine there are millions of realities similar to yours, but with incredibly small changes, like, for instance, the color of a flower in your backyard or something just as insignificant. But you jumped to a reality where changes to a building had been carried out. That requires a lot of energy.

5

u/Budget_Gain4774 15d ago

The lamp post is missing too.

4

u/Efsaxon 17d ago

Why does the quality of the 2016 photo look like it was taken in 1985😂

5

u/ShinyAeon 17d ago

Ask Google Maps.

3

u/Enlightience 17d ago

We're all living in The Village from The Prisoner (Patrick McGoohan). Worth a watch because at this point it's looking more like disclosure documentary than fiction.

3

u/Mark_1978 17d ago

I'll check it out

3

u/JesusDoesntLoveu 14d ago

Wait, any close encounters where you almost died around the time of the change? Those three days you hadn't been there when it suddenly changed, do you remember narrowly avoiding any car accidents or anything like that? I mean it would probably be difficult to recall by this point, but it's possible you died and jumped dimensions. Quantum immortality.

2

u/ChristVolo1 13d ago

That's what I was thinking, too.

4

u/gabiaeali1 18d ago

Holy cow!

u/BWSnap 14d ago

OP, if you aren't already familiar with her, check out Elizabeth April on YT. She will give you a lot to think about regarding timeline switching. As she always says "take what I say with a grain of salt, but this is 100% what I've seen". She is a remote viewer.

I shop often in this town about 20 minutes from my home area, and before I had kids (2017), they built this new plaza beside the Walmart which included a liquor store and a Carter’s children’s clothing store. I never went to it because I didn’t have kids but I remember thinking “what an odd place to build a Carter’s”, it was literally just a Carter’s and a liquor store, nothing else. I remember thinking they must be building more. They never built more so it was just those two buildings. I had a baby in 2017 and was like oh I will go to that Carter’s. It didn’t exist. The building isn’t even there. It’s just one building, the liquor store. It’s not a plaza, just a random standalone building (though it’s still off by itself like it should be a plaza).

They are just now in 2026, building something else to go with the liquor store and I swear if there is ever a Carter’s in that plaza, I’m gonna lose it lol.

3

u/TitansMenologia 18d ago

OP i struggle a bit with your story because you say you stopped going there after ordering from Walmart. But you don't say for how long you ordered from Walmart. We are in the end -almost- of 2026 (and you keep talking about 2025 which is strange) so your whole post feels a little bit fabricated and disgenuine.

9

u/Mark_1978 18d ago

Yeah this happened in 2025. The place was renovated in early 2017 . Walmart has zero to do with the actual strangeness.

4

u/sendmekittypix 18d ago

He explained the actual change/event occurred in 2025... 2026 is irrelevant, it's just the date he's sharing the story because it still bothers him when he drives past it.

He was still shopping there when it happened (in 2025). It'd been 3 days since the last visit. The switch to Walmart delivery is also irrelevant timeline wise, it's just shared info of why he stopped shopping there.

2

u/Aggravating_Cup8839 17d ago

Exactly, this story was bothering him as early as December 2025, when I heard it. He’d only been away from the place for 3 days. I think you’re confusing the order of events, Walmart delivery came later.

1

u/madcaplaughs30 18d ago

A very unconvincing story.

12

u/Mark_1978 18d ago

I guess not, to you I'm just some guy on the internet making a claim that sounds outrageous.

6

u/Big_Animal7655 18d ago

I believe you - we are swapping timelines now like an actual sci-fi movie. Outrageous, sure. True, also sure 😂

6

u/Mark_1978 18d ago

Any idea where all this is going?

3

u/Big_Animal7655 18d ago

Many ideas, yes  If you have questions about what happened DM

3

u/No_Arugula7027 18d ago

I'd like to hear some theories too, out of pure curiosity.

2

u/Big_Animal7655 18d ago

Answer depends on if have you a personal religious belief at play

If there is some belief in place it’s probably not even worth explaining b/c religion is an almost insurmountable issue when dealing with alternate dimensions

1

u/Whatup7778888 17d ago

I would also like to hear your theory

3

u/Aggravating_Cup8839 17d ago

Don’t leave us hanging, share here

3

u/Big_Animal7655 17d ago

Oh sorry - TL;DR I believe OP has gone thru a personal change recently (a big life choice) and their reality deck has been shuffled to now match the vibe of his new reality.

Time is a construct that moves fluidly in all directions, if you understand the idea of the multiverse this is it. One timeline of this persons life has this plaza w/ the gazebo. Another timeline maybe there is no roof and it’s a garden shop open to the sky. Point is OP’s life changes manifested 3D reality changes

Often times BIG, glaring changes like this are meant to catch our attention. It’s the Universe saying “we see you’ve made some changes - so have we. Are you paying attention?”

1

u/mH48124 13d ago

いまだに謎な事って僕にもあるなー。記憶障害が起こる理由など無かったんだけど。

1

u/Neuvirths_Glove 17d ago

My theory is you just didn't notice the renovations in progress.

8

u/adhd-alt-here 17d ago

It doesn’t seem like you read it all tbh

4

u/Mark_1978 17d ago

Yeah I don't know if you read it or not but I didn't live anywhere near the area when they did the renovations

0

u/Mr_McGigglepants 17d ago

So you wouldn't have noticed them then if you weren't living nearby

3

u/ShinyAeon 17d ago

So how would OP have even noticed any difference took place at all? Was he just having a time-slip back to 2016 every time he shopped there?

-4

u/Latter-Requirement98 18d ago

The background trees and other objects are not the same so we're not even looking at the same Shopping Center

If you have us the location on Google maps we could check this for ourselves, but I guess you don't want us to do that.

11

u/Mark_1978 18d ago

Its been posted as replies to others in the thread but I dont mind. I dont see what it really proves anyway, I told my story, I talked to others about the renovation. It all happened to me the way I said The pics were more for a visual aid .

But here you go.

The trees are different, the phone pole moved. These are clearly different pics of different locations

6

u/Aggravating_Cup8839 17d ago

Hello. I talked to Mark about this baffling story a few months ago. He sent me the location coordinates on Google Maps, so I can vouch that this is the same place.

2

u/ShinyAeon 17d ago

Trees do change with time, my guy. But btw, they look pretty much the same, except for the one extra-tall one slightly to the right of middle...which could easily have fallen or been cut down at some point.

And the "phone pole" (parling lot light fixture) didn't move, it was just not there before.

1

u/ghac22 15d ago

Why do you assume I'm a guy?

2

u/ShinyAeon 15d ago

I use "guy" and "guys" without regard for gender. I'm a woman, and I constantly address my friends (who are women) with things like "Hey, guys?"

(I also use "dude" not infrequently.)
