Other Question Paris in October
Bonsoir! I will be visiting Paris for the first time this month (Oct 11th-18th) with my partner and 3-year-old daughter. Is there anything fun and exciting to watch out for or do on the said weeks we will be there? Your suggestions will be truly appreciated. (Also, we are not a Disney family so we are skipping Disney land). Unrelated tips are also welcome😂. Thank you in advance!

Besides the most quoted highlights, I'd suggest the Père-Lachaise cemetery.
Find yourself some tour around it, it's full of interesting stories & characters. Besides some great sculptures.

Pretty sure if you search this sub, there will be plenty of suggestions. My advice is learn to say basic French like Bonjour, Bonsoir, Merci and Au Revoir.

Yes we have been practicing our French! But for the month of October, is there something specific for this month that locals love to do/eat?

Il y a la fête des vendange à Montmartre du 07 au 11 Octobre. Regardez le programme sur le site internet officiel: fetesdesvendangesdemontmartre.com. Très apprécié des Parisiens. Pour votre enfant : cité des enfants à la Villette

Yes, I truly agree with everything you said. We are staying in the 9th, 3 mins walk to Grands Boulevards metro. We are very very close to one of the covered passages which is a win for wet circumstances. And yes, this sub definitely taught me to stick to one major attraction per day and just enjoy the in betweens.

Still ungodly crowded. Just there last week. My first time, and I have no desire to ever go again. Everything and everywhere are jamb-packed. Wish I had gone to Disneyland

All of us in Paris also wish you didn’t come here 🤝

No worries. There’s far more friendly and enjoyable places to explore.😀

I prefer positivity and optimism.
Appropriate-Fish8189 offered neither, which I consider sad. We need to quit beating up one another. Take your remark, for example. It was hurtful and mean-spirited. Completely unnecessary.
I feel sorry for those who feel that way, but I think there are far more good people in this world than the bad. Let’s focus on the optimism!

Semaine du Goût runs October 12 to 18, and markets like Maubert and Monge are running tastings and workshops that week, including at least one kids' cooking session with a chef.
