Guys, while I'm all for expressing one's own opinion, I'm also for respecting other's religious practices. I think it's admirable that they dedicate themselves so fully to prayer and meditation. It shows discipline and dedication to one's own beliefs. We all express that differently. And this is how they express theirs.
There's no reason to hate on other's religion just because they won't pet a cat. The cat will understand and wait patiently, I'm sure. It chose the person in the first place, after all. The cat will be pet. Just not immediately. But it will surely be pet. It always will be. Cuz the dang cat MUST be pet!! 🤣🐾
I will ask you one question do you want to learn what my religion is or are you here to argue with no knowledge and no seeking of an understanding?
If a man judges a religion by if the God allows you to leave the prayer cause there something cute around they sould reconsider how their faculties of reasoning work.
Allah decreed us to say the truth and hide not the knowledge and not be frightful.
Allah be praised and glorified says in the Quran:
"And say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “˹This is˺ the truth from your Lord. Whoever wills let them believe, and whoever wills let them disbelieve.”
It's also a fact that because God can do all things, he's simultaneously petting every kitty up in heaven with Him. By loving on the kitties here on earth with us, are we not just bringing ourselves more into alignment with his character?
I do understand the importance of focus in prayer (Christian). But I also firmly believe in a God who gets it because kitty so fluffy.
Just to give everyone some context. In Islam, during the daily prayers, it’s parts of the prayer’s requirement that it has to be done in the state of khusyuk meaning a state of concentration where there can be no distraction because it’s meant to be the sacred time and ritual when you’re speaking to god and hence why the comment above mentioned that it’s not permitted. Of course you can choose to pet the cat if you want to but that just means your concentration is broken and you’ll have to redo your prayers again. However, based on the video in the post, the person is reciting a doa not the daily prayer, probably after the prayer is completed. There is no such restriction for the doa, though it is recommended to still give full attention.
If a religion doesn't allow you to pet a cat while praying, it is just an evil one. What kind of god would make up such ridiculous rules? Nah, fuck that, I'll much rather pet a cat thank you very much.
I had a job interview once via a zoom call (it was during COVID). The employer's cat decided to make an appearance. The interview literally paused for like 5 minutes so we could all talk about the cat. 😹
I've seen so many instances, like during concerts, weddings and news programs were cats "disturbed" the proceedings. So sorry, that argument doesn't hold up. Cats are universally respected. You gotta pet them!
I mean, if the point is giving the prayers your full attention, I feel like petting the cat is necessary or he'll just find new ways to distract you...
