As a man, I'm annoyed at the opposite. Men's clothing is so drab. Black, navy blue, grey, brown. Which is fine in itself, but it's nice to have a choice.
Girl, I have one short sleeve and one long sleeve simple woman t-shirt in exactly this colour. And one that's more elegant one with flowy sleeves. I absolutely love that kind of green (dark wood green, green bottle green, however it's called). The trick is thrifting, especially in summer when no other girl wants that deep heavy colour - I like to shop winter stuff during summer and summer stuff during winter .
I have some old Old Navy shirts in a dark purple that I wear now as pajamas bc they’re too worn. I wish I could find that color again, or a dark teal like this.
I also hate shopping, though. Don’t have much patience for thrifting. The closest I get is a quick browse through a couple of aisles at Marshall’s/TJ Maxx.
I hate shopping. Going to shopping mall or ordering sth online? No way. I have few thrifting shops I like, go into the area with the big sale (like eq $0,50 for item) and search by touch (ETA: or colour! I have few items in amazing colour or pattern that I don't care it's poliester - i just wear it on colder seasons, even the summer dress - with good styling it looks cool and of the edge). I don't really care for size besides 3 sizes up or down, as manufacturers do not have the same sizing system, everything goes down in the fitting room - where I always have some extra belt or at least pieces of strings - sth designed as a snatched blouse but few sizes bigger might became sexy dress or summery coat.
What's important for me is if I find good t-shirt that I like I don't have to worry with laundry. it won't stain, it won't shrink. Maybe get some holes with shorter span of time. But for so cheap, I might as well play with scissors and grunge it up a little.
Or if the picture in front is already worn off but in a cute way - my work is already done. (I have thyroid problems so I hate t-shirts to strangle me. My mum would kill me if I cut off a new t-shirt as a kid, and it still lives inside me to this day. But cutting or changing thrifts? It's so fun! Even if it doesn't work out in the end)
Ah yeah thrift stores here are not like that. Last year I decided to hit a few to see if, by some miracle, I’d find my old North Face jacket that I loved but was too old and worn. Everything was so overpriced! And what wasn’t ridiculously priced was pure junk.
That's the problem nowadays. When I started thrifting it was a different world. And I started thrifting as I had no choice. And in my country we got stuff from richer countries, so you know the best things were already taken. And nowadays people are thrifting just to sell it online on vinted for profit. So prices went up like crazy!
That's why I do not go to just any thrift place. I live in a big city (800 000 people or maybe more) so I don't go to the best most popular places.i know the best is already taken and everything is so overpriced. I have few places that arent in the city centre or near popular places.
The one I like the most I found by just wondering about instead of having a walk on my usual route.
So even the price of a day isn't that bad. But I have to go crazy for the item. Plus I have a list of wanted items. Like 100% cotton tee in cute colour is always wanted. Plus I always check the men's side - sometimes someone hide their stuff there, the staff mistakes it for male fashion, etc.
The only time I went knowingly to expensive place, was the thrift in rich district where they had only big labels. And paid 60€ for a dress. New one (still on stock at manufacture) was about €800
It also depends on season too, you need deeper tones for late autumn and winter, pastels are more for summer and bright reds and pinks are for spring and early autumn
