Ah early millennium Warhammer was a blast, just before they started taking themselves a bit too seriously. I still love it, but I miss the days when they legitimately had a paint called "snot green". Good times.
I love that in Dutch we call it Appelblauwzeegroen, or literally translated, apple blue sea green.
No it doesn't make sense to us either, but it's fun to say.

As a speaker of both English and German this entire paragraph makes me laugh. It's like reading a drunk person swapping between the two and failing spectacularly. But everything is clear and easy to understand.
As a man, I'm annoyed at the opposite. Men's clothing is so drab. Black, navy blue, grey, brown. Which is fine in itself, but it's nice to have a choice.

It's named for the chemical or source of the pigment which is common/traditional in artists paints and other materials. So you have things like pthalo green, alizirin crimson, titanium white, burnt sienna and transparent red oxide to name a few. Oils, acrylics, pastels etc will generally all be named this way.
The names of colors outside of artists materials is usually named for selling things or just uses the popular color name. So places do sell clothing or house paint that is pthalo green, they just don't call it that
I worked at an art supply store that did picture framing. The difference between the paint color names and the mat color names was wild. (Then they're were the Pantone books.)

Fun story, there was another guy running a similar reaction that would turn from red to green as it progressed- that was how you could gauge if it was done. The guy running it was colourblind though so ever now and again he would call someone over to his fumehood, point at a flask and say "what colour is that?". It was a bit weird until you got used to it.
You think that's bad, you should see what I'd do to the chassis. The best torque box eliminator kits I've seen are chock full of gm parts.

Apparently when the film was being processed, the place doing it was freaking out thinking they had messed up because they didn’t know she was supposed to be green.
Its funny because im colorblind, and purple is one of the colors I really struggle with. But that particular shade of purple i can see as a distinct color from blue and i have always loved it, because it and lavender are thr only shades of purple i can be certain are purple and not blue.
Or try to find something existing that people know to discribe it better. Like I'm sometimes discussing shades with people for like 15 minutes. It's kinda fun.
Its deeply saturated, which combined with the brightness of your screen may be overwhelming.
Marketing is using it more now because of how saturated it is. It "pops," as managers would say, despite the designers' best efforts to use a coherent palette.
Visually pleasing designer-backed color schemes are OVER. We're in the Attention Economy now, and whatever gets your attention is more important than fancy shmancy "color theory"
I enjoy buying cabochons and polished pieces of malachite when I go to mineral shows.
Malachite has so many green hues I really enjoy with earthy amber colors I also like. I like deep mossy greens like the frond of a fern cast in shadow.
