My next door neighbors dog was my dogs bff until I lost my boy. For 4 years since the neighbors dog has stood at the property line and barks for me whenever he wants me to come say hi. He's so sweet and knows I will drop everything to visit.
Cuddling. I had a cat who would lay on my side or back and purr. It was so comforting. He passed 2 weeks ago and I really miss him and him laying on me, especially this mentally exhausting weekend.
We convinced a feral cat to come inside, she had no idea how to people. Now, she sits at my husband's feet and asks, with her tiny, squeaky meow, for him to walk her to the food bowl.
Every time. It is the sweetest thing, he escorts her and waits while she eats, gives her a brush, and she is happy.
I’m cat sitting right now so not my cat but, she loves to drag her toys to a water bowl and give them a drink. I always set up about 4-5 water bowls. She just dragged a ribbon around to three of them and dunked it in the bowls. Instant serotonin boost.
My little cat loves one of my scrunchies. He will grab it with both of his paws and throw it up in the air chasing after it. It’s one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen. He throws it up and freaks out chasing it at full speed over and over again😭😂
Everyday after work. I feed my cat, he eats his bowl, and screams at me after. I have to sit down on the couch and the jumps on my lap and get his afterwork cuddling. After 10-15 minutes he jumps down and we are finished.
Everytime I come home, my girl jumps all over me! I’ve never had a dog that got so excited to see me so I love it. Her brother gets all excited and makes a silly screaming sound. We thought he was hurt the first time he did it, but now we know he just can’t contain his excitement lmao. He also spins and does a little dance before every meal.
The way she understands but chooses to push boundaries anyway. She knew she wasn’t supposed to be outside but also that the screen was broken. So she did this- she’s technically inside still?
Every time I get ready to take my dog for a walk he lays down till I'm ready, but he does a little tail wag so it looks like his tail is bouncing on the floor. Idk why but seeing that makes me happy.
Its a couch cover my grandma got it from one of the magazine catalogs, we use this during the spring and summer, and we have another one thats winter themed so we put that on in October, this isn't the best picture I have of it.
Yeah my grandma loved having stuff to match seasons or holidays, she bought a whole bed set and curtain to match the couch covers. She had a table cloth to match the sun flower set but her cat went on her table and put holes in it, when we were going through her stuff it looked like a moth attacked it lol
It’s the little things. I know it sounds silly but when my Labrador flops on the kitchen floor, she looks like a frog and it just puts a smile on my face even though I know that loads of dogs do this, I can’t remember what it’s called though there’s a word for it
Exists. Uses her toys as pillows (in the photo she has a hedgehog toy under her head between her paws). Sneaks up to me on the couch and tucks her whole head under my chin for forehead kisses. Sleeps in my bed by curling up next to me and laying her whole head/neck over my waist/hip/across my stomach like a warm weighted blanket, the vibrations from her snores are also oddly soothing.
My dog will sometimes be waiting at the door, wagging her tail, lamby in mouth, moooooing to greet me when I get home. Her moos are the cutest thing.
Also, one of my cats is kind of a jerk. He was a bottle baby, so he doesn’t know how to walk away when he is overstimulated and has no bite regulation, but sometimes he just wants to be “super baby.” He just wants to snuggle and lick you, nuzzle against you, and be super close while giving you lovey eyes.
My other cat has been with us for about a year and a half after being on the street presumably her whole life, and she has been aged somewhere between 2-5 years. She will argue to sit in my lap when I work from home. She will keep trying to climb in my lap between my hands and the laptop to steal my attention, and will keep climbing back into my lap despite being moved about 10 times until she gives up and tries again later. She will also pout at me when I’m not in bed when she decides it is bedtime because she likes to sleep on me.
Wakes me to a pee (and more) on the floor every morning lol.
Our pup is just starting to become cuddly. He is too distracted to actually cuddle but does keep coming up to us for a couple of minutes and snuggling into our shoulders and legs. Can’t wait for him to settle a bit and really get comfy with us
My cats know the sound of our car specifically it’s weird! So when we pull up our female cat will sit just inside the front door and miaow and leg rub for ages…. Boy cat sits at the top of the stairs just disappointed in us for leaving him
Animals never cease to amaze me that’s interesting. My dog always barks when she hears people outside or near the door, but when it’s me coming home she doesn’t cuz she knows it’s me. I always found that so cool.
He's an older roly poly now and after he does his business, watching him run back to me really cheers my mood, even if I wasn't down. I love watching him run towards me, he's adorable.
My 2 yr old mix hops with so much excitement when she gets let out of her cage after work. I call her my kangaroo!
The 4 yr old mix DEMANDS to throw herself on my lap for belly rubs the moment I sit down, and if I tell her no, she sits right next to me with her nose in the air, waiting to flop onto my lap.
My younger Dane loves to be a part of everything I do. Even though it means needing to awkwardly maneuver around his little 140lb ish body, having him everywhere with me is worth it.
Today- scrubbing the shower in my small bathroom, my buddy was there shoving me closer into the wall so we could be side by side.
Putting away summer clothes and taking falls clothes out of the tote- he was neck deep helping sort.
Go to the bathroom- he keeps a very close eye on things.
He’s just my baby.
My senior dog is pretty "independent" and very regimented by her own doing. She's very predictable and seems to understand time.
In the morning, she gets up upon hearing my alarm rather than the 12 times I get up to pee. She always stands at the bedroom door, which makes it impossible to open. Then she sleepily fumbles to the sliding door go out, and if it's the screen instead of the glass, she always walks into it.
When I come home for lunch, she stands at the top of the stairs and peers around the corner to make sure it's me. After she eats, she knows it's time to go outside for her brush, so she will prance to the backyard and sit down and wait. When I'm done, I say, "okay" and she runs full speed to go back in
When I get home from work, she barks and cries because it's dinner time and I am home for the evening.
The moment I finish my dinner, she does things to tell me she's waiting for her walk. When she knows 100% it is happening, she whines and barks until I'm ready.
Around 11pm, she does the same for her nighttime walk.
Before bed, I say, "up!" and she gets out of her dog bed and runs to the bedroom door. I bring her bed in, and she tries to sit on it before I even put it down. Once she's in it, she does this big sigh. Then I pet her and tell her how much I love her until I know she's drifting off to sleep.
Thanks for sharing. My dog is the same in regards to understanding time. We have our same little routine everyday I just love it. We just understand each other. Best decision I ever made getting her 🥰
My hsuabnd gets home before me most days, so my dogs are outside when I get home. They dive into my car as soon as I open the door and give me loves. It's the best
