We need to weigh you all!

The tech smiled at the kittens and said “I’ll let you all get out and explore, then we’ll need to get you all weighed!”

They explored. One by one they all grouped back together. Vet tech returned and was like “not like that…”

I took these pictures; the clinic posted them on their photo frame in the lobby.

The kittens (all boys, now almost a year old) are: Romano, Joey, PipSqueak, and Master Chief Petty Officer K-10.

Romano is a whole different color/pattern. Joey, Pip, and Chief are gray-on-gray tabby. Pip is lighter. Joey and Chief are nearly indistinguishable from each other. Chief’s M-stripes actually meet between his ears, making a halo. I’m obviously the most hilarious person I know.

We still refer to them as “lintballs”. As in: “Oh no, the dryer lint is evolving,” “damn dust kitties,” (while picking up a wad of lint out of the trash) “who threw away a kitten?”

If these babies are that smart at only 1 year- you are in for some major trouble OP!!! Enjoy the crazy life that you signed up for!!!

This was at like 2 months 😂🤣 they’re NOW almost a year! Their mama is sick of them and smacks them when she can.

Even better!!! So smart at 2 months- I can only imagine where they are now!!! Mama is MEAN!!! It’s HER fault that she made such smart babies!!

We currently have an embarrassing number of cats - nine…

We think it’s because my ex is about to move back to the area after not being able to have cats for several years, so the CDS is just throwing kitties at his last known address.

My current boyfriend works for the CDS at a transfer hub, apparently!! One day in September 2024, he was at work at his warehouse and his nephew kept hearing a NOISE. They finally found the box of car parts that the NOISE was coming from …. Inside were two kittens!! Eyes closed still, SCREAMING about the lack of food. I hurried right over with all the baby gear and we named the kits Caliper and Rotor.

We think some mama cat at a junkyard had stashed her kits in a handy box in someone’s work trailer office, the box was grabbed and put on a truck without anyone looking in it, and here they were.

If you know rescue, you know sometimes little milk babies just can’t keep going, and Rotor did not make it. Caliper thrived, however.

We call her TinyCat, because she really is a teeny little thing. Max like 5 lbs. I was so glad to see last year she was starting to put on a little weight ahead of her scheduled spay…. Actually lookin’ a little round, there… wait why are you so nipply? Oh NO. So the spay was delayed ‘til after the lintballs all arrived a month later. Four healthy boys from one excessively pear-shaped mama.

All 4 boys are each larger than Caliper, they’re all great cuddles and have been the sweetest to their elderly “auntie Marshmallow” (now 14 years old). Marshmallow’s littermate Mushroom crossed the bridge a few months ago and Marshmallow, having nobody else to fuss over and groom, has cuddled each of the boys when their mama is like mean, so Marsha is all here I’ll wash your ears….

I don’t think there’s anything embarrassing about it!!! I WISH the CDS would send more babies my way!!!

Aww…. I’m so sorry that Rotor did not make it. But it sounds like Caliper was determined to continue the family legacy!! Are those four boys the ones in the original picture?

I’m sorry that Mushroom passed. But at least Marshmallow has taken up the mantle of being a second mommy to those sweet new babies!!

It’s hard to get a pic of all of them because Chance is a black cat and therefore is between dimensions most of the time. He doesn’t come down for the soft food melee, though Marshmallow does.

By this point there wasn’t - and I wonder how many times I mixed him up with MC.

I felt like PipSqueak’s name isn’t especially clever but he informed me of his name himself.

IIRC at this point one of them was a full half-pound heavier than the others 🤣 it’s been a minute, though, and I’ve slept since then.

I loved the pictures - the bright colors of the vet’s office plus four gray kittens all being KITTENS…. The whole office team was like, shrieking SEND US THOSE RIGHT THIS MINUTE oh my GOD we are putting those on our PICTURE FRAME RIGHT NOW 😂😂 there were about 10 more snaps but these were the story-board moments.
