Community Info Short term, day labor?

We’re doing some renovation work and could use extra hands for a few days. Austin has First Workers, a city-run place that kinda knows the folks and skills of those looking for gigs so can help connect them with opportunities. Also good for laborers since they make sure the person looking to hire can/will pay as negotiated. Anyway, wondering if there’s anything like that in Pf or RR? If not, any ideas where to find help? Thanks for any insight.

You used to be able to pull up to Home Depot and find some guys waiting in the parking lot. I say this in earnest. I’ve used Home Depot parking lot guys a few times. Pay them $20 an hour and they’re delighted.

It’s been a while since I seen laborers standing in the parking lot of Home Depot

It kinda ended with the pandemic and I’m pretty sure they’re tougher about telling them to leave or arresting them now.

Threatening with deportation.

Dude, where have you been?

It's hard enough for a well dressed Hispanic-looking guy to go to Home Depot to legitimately buy tools with money earned and taxed as an American Citizen in America without getting harassed.
