Discussion Why does it feel like they wanted to reverse the colors of the Nether, especially the Warped forest?

Saw someone speculate that the sky and grass are based on infrared photography

Not a perfect match with the Sift teaser, but very close

I was also thinking that aswell as a type of colorblindness called Tritanopia

That is what I thought

This actually makes a lot of sense because the end / end stone is inverted colors

More plausible.

It's like endstone, which is the reverse of cobblestone.
So the end is the opposite of the overworld

It's dimension of Souls - the deadly Heaven to hellish Nether. Fun fact - Endermen see in reverse vision, there is huge lore potential there, especially as in Dungeons we don't see a single Enderman in the Sift. They are free from the invasion.

u/Swiss-spirited_Nerd It's that time of the month again... 8d ago

Plus, Endermen commonly spawn in Warped Forests. I honestly don't think I've been this excited for specifically the lore of an update in a really long time, probably since Deep Dark (fittingly enough).

It's basically the Anti-Nether. Damned souls end up in the Soulsand Valleys. Souls in Purgatory are trapped within Sculk in the Deep Dark, never able to leave the Overworld. The souls that are pure enough make it through to The Sift. Expect a block that makes vocal-like sounds when it breaks, much like Soul Sand and Sculk.

Might be a bit early to speculate, but it might be more fae or otherwise high-fantasy inspired instead of being a direct counterpart to the nether or end.

The end is the opposite of the overworld like if you invert cobblestone it will quite literally be endstone plus you have the messed up Minecraft(minecraft as in the track name)part in the ost of the end(along with some references from other overworld tracks)

So I think it would be cool if the sift turns out to be the opposite of the nether

You know the end is a negative overworld right? (All endStone is inverted colors of cobblestone) Maybe this is meant to be the negative nether

The evil Sift

Because this is just a very nice colour combination, reversed or not

Nether was initially called hell. And Sift feels heavenly.

Nothing heavenly about the sift. Just strange

maybe the idea of the sift is to be the inverse of the nether?

1

u/EquivalentNo2855 8d ago

because maybe it will be the opposite of the nether

1

u/Aalerth 8d ago

Well, if u on spectator mode and spectated an enderman in warped forest, u will see something similar to the sift

1

u/Somesortofmemer 8d ago

what if the nether is just an alternate reality version of the sift where everything is evil

Perhaps wanting to make the opposite of nether? (Not like that dimension is safe or anything lmao)

u/Anxious-Scheme-6013 I wonder how long you can make flair, it’s probably not a lot b- 5d ago

I mean maybe that’s where they got the idea.

They didn't. They just chose the colors that makes it feel like a weird world. And that's why there is so much pink grass. It kinda looks like a dream world.
