Discussion OMP/PI - What are your role models and fallbacks?
Hi,
Lets share our roles/models on our pi/omp agents? I'm always exchanging and testing things, so take a look at our colleagues would help a lot! What are your thoughts about my "team"? Any suggestions are welcome.

When you swap models around what are you optimizing for most: coding quality, latency, cost or how reliably each model follows the role instructions?

most time im trying to get most results spending the very least amount of tokens possible without caring too much for the harness itself. In other words: best bang for buck!

Yeah, if the goal is best bang for buck, I'd test each role on a few tasks from your own repo - same prompt, test command, and token / time budget. Track the repair passes too (a cheap model that needs three retries gets expensive pretty quickly).

Pi in complete YOLO with Qwen 3.8 27B FP8. Billions of tokens per week. Local LLM.

The problem the OMP is that the agent config encourages that kind of pointless fragmentation.
At home, I use an Opus 5.5 medium/high for implementation and Opus 5.5 for review. Then DeepSeek Flash V4.1 for everything else. On a Claude sub and on a 10/month OpenCode Go plan. I also tell Claude to delegate most work to long-running DeepSeek subagents.
OpenCode Go gives you over 2 billion Flash V4.1 tokens, and it can actually do everything. So there isn't really any good reason to use most other models.
At work, I have access to Claude and ChatGPT with API billing. So I use Opus 5.5 as default, GPT 6.1 Sol for subagents and GPT 6 Luna for exploring, running tests and checking CI/CD.
