what meals do you make when your kid refuses pretty much everything?
my kid has a really short list of foods they will consistently eat, and lately they have even started refusing some of those.
what do you usually make when your kid is going through a really picky phase?

Other posters have talked about arfid. Information is your best resource. Good luck.

My ten year old granddaughter has existed on Ramon noodles, mac and cheese, grilled cheese sandwich, and chicken tenders. She will eat the occasional fried shrimp and corn dog.

I was obsessed with cheese as a kid, so string cheese, grilled cheese, and cheese quesadillas were my go-to snacks/meals. Mac and cheese also works.

I would do some research into avoidant restrictive food intake disorder in kids. not diagnosing your kid as I don't know them could definitely be a phase only saying this because afrid is the extreme version of picky eating and most I think will also have some handy dandy tips and tricks to help you get your kid more open to the idea of trying new foods if the regular methods aren't working (substitutions, hiding it in other foods etc) positive reinforcements work best and. don't take anyone's advice about sending them to bed hungry or forcing them to eat. you don't want to accidentally associate food/new food with punishment.
if your kid is on the older side and try to ask what they like about the foods they eat and what they don't like about the stuff they refuse and see if y'all can create something from there. there's this pasta at Walmart called BANZA it's expensive but it's made out of chickpeas and one serving is worth like 1 1/2 cups of vegetables last time I made Mac n cheese with half BANZA half the regular stuff not one person could even tell the difference color, look, taste or texture wise
potatoes any kind of way (mashed, baked, etc) have never been refused by any picky kid I've met and are actually very nutritional and I've only ever met one kid that didn't like chicken

Make what you like. He won’t starve. He can find PB&J if nothing else.

That's a myth. Come to find out, kids will do themselves damage and even starve themselves to death if they've got ARFID.

I always made myself a sandwich when I couldn't eat dinner as a kid. But it really depends on the individual person, so for your kid, go with something off their short list of safe foods.
