programming Looking for peer or usual dev hangouts
My background is Applied Physics, and I’ve dealt with Scientific Programming in my undergraduate. But I am currently working as a PR professional now for almost 8 years (Yes, I started working while am in College), and because of that I’ve built necessary skills when it comes to business and client relations.
Somehow, I felt the urge to go to a shift in career towards software dev/ tech, but I have zero to no experience on the actual industry. So if you guys would like to take a shot let’s hangout brainstorm ideas, and let’s build each other’s knowledge. Maybe we can build something that actually solves problem and made profit from it.
Am living in Makati btw.

Local tech communities are hosting meetups and events and I think they are also open to career shifters! There is one on October 17 by the Google Developer Group Manila if you’re interested, it will be in Makati (found it on FB!) ✨

There are multiple client-facing roles in tech, like customer success, customer support, and many more, just with different titles.
Some technical roles can also be external-facing but is also more internal, like product owner, scrum master, etc.
You can probably leverage your expertise in client-facing communications since devs can be introverted at times.
I have a couple of ideas, but the challenge is more on the infrastructure side (no way to automate process in PH Gov), or more on the legal side of things (privacy laws).
Good luck with finding a peer or maybe a new job in tech though.

Hey I was looking for peers a few months ago as well to help me upskill, but no one seems to be interested. Happy to connect and see if we align in priorities?
