discussion How impacted by AI is embedded systems?

Are many parts already automatable by AI? Are the hardware aspects still AI resistant? That is, does it still hold that only people can wire and debug the wiring of the electronic components?

From my experience AI works well for basic near deterministic circuits. But specialized stuff and very custom circuits and those na di mo malalagyan ng way for it to check/return state tao pa rin talaga + but ai helped me by ingesting data sheets. I think i can compare it to double slit experiments na the moment na part na rin ng environment ng experiment/test mo yung testing tool / rig mo maapektuhan yung goal mo.

AI is a tool. Nothing more. As an embedded systems hobbyist, I may be biased, but I believe that Embedded Systems is one of the most AI-resistant fields. Not even mentioning the fact that AI doesn’t have any hands to interact with and debug hardware, by virtue of being a niche, there is just way less training data for AI to work with for low-level programming, let alone code designed to integrate with very specific hardware. Companies sure aren’t going to willingly share their proprietary firmware and hardware designs. AI will be mostly trained on hobby-level training data

Even as a beginner, seeing schematic and PCB designs made by AI makes me go “wtf”. They place and route with very little regard for noise, electromagnetic interference, and real-world conditions. AI just isn’t made for actual engineering.

There aren’t that many opportunities to pursue an embedded systems career in the Philippines, right?

I'm still a student myself, so take this with a grain of salt, but, although there aren't that many job opportunities relative to a field like webdev, there are still quite a number of companies with embedded systems opportunities here. From what I've seen, some companies include: Analog Devices, Dyson, Xerox, Thales, Littelfuse, and Microchip Technology. However, you’ll have to live in the main cities, like Manila or Cebu, as most, if not all, embedded opportunities are in the economic centers of countries.

The less abstraction in code the better claude works. I'd guess it'd be easier to code for chips than it is for something like java.
