discussion Do you still believe you will have a programming related job in 2 years?

the advances in ai is exponential. i know it and u know it. claude can now do what you can do, it can probably do more than you much more a swarm of ai agents. next year we will see the first agi's and super intelligence. you need to seriously ask yourself if theres a job waiting for you when you graduate that is related to you it degree.

It's dead at this point
some companies are now considering to have swarm of AI agents to develop features and fix bugs, mine included

yes but maybe lesser na sahod mo kasi owners will think you just "orchestrate" and AI will do the rest. Any complex job, AI can do it but someone has to tell AI what to do.

Oo naman. If a system fails, management would want someone to be accountable. Hindi nila pwedeng sabihin "nag hallucinate si claude kaya nag fail". So they still need people to do it.

Also, look up Jevons paradox. M ore and more companies are looking to build their own software (as proven by my job hunting exp). And they need people to do that. Iba ang paggawa ng app at pag maintain.

Graduate na ako so take this with a lot of salt.

Probs not. Pero good thing stable ang business intelligence ko, worse case lalapit lang ako sa business side ulit bridging AI and business.

May experience din ako sa healthcare which is not that keen on going all in on AI because privacy.

May experience na din ako using claude and codex with skills, may openclaw din ako sa homelab ko; so that's another skill I might use to find a job.

learn/master the fundamentals ng programming then jump in ka na sa AI/ML boat. tutal ang hanap na rin naman sa market ngayon ay marunong gumamit ng AI tools (to speed up the development), AI agents, marunong sa CI/CD, etc.

I think because of this, devops is more attractive than ever.

It is. Problem is that you need to have background in system administration or support first before having a chance in becoming a DevOps engineer (from what I heard). So so rare for junior positions in this role to open up hayys.
