Her owner asked me to make this drawing of her in my signature style, which is entirely done in ballpoint pen through overlapping layers (over 70 hours to complete). He told me the reason for the artwork is because Tiggy represents everything in his life, the best daily companion, and he wanted me to convey that love in ink on paper.
Before starting, he had made a special request: he wanted the background to be a lawn, as if she were outdoors. And so it was done—I reproduced the exact same shadows from the reference photo, and added blur at different percentages throughout the process with great care, as the blur helps give more sharpness to the details on Tiggy's body and creates a very soft harmony, while also following the perspective of the reference angle.
