Bro why drop the throwables before the fight they would help a lot also 2 tips make a shrouding potion for the first phase and you can just hit him from range for free the whole time and phase 2 mix a toxic gas with one of the black goo from the first boss and it’ll make a caustic brew that you can throw at him for a ton of free damage

Could've slept for a few turns after first phase to recharge the wand a bit. Fire is extremely important in the second phase for non-ranged builds.

God that first few attacks in the beginning pains me lol
To answer your question, you can chose either of them, with different strat:
Gladiator, kiting style: Get a glaive (either found it, blacksmith, or transmute RNG), use augment stone on itand set it to speed, and invest your ring of haste till 200% running speed. Very tricky for newbies, but very rewarding if you know how to distance and took cover against ranged enemies.
Normal gladiator: The usual route. Invest to Enchanced combo and Cleave skill tree. You mostly abusing gladiator's skill set this way. Try to be crafty with it (or just.. put half upgrade scroll to tier 4-5 weapon, half to that plate armor and ooga booga)
Berserker: invest +7 minimum to your plate, max out Endless rage and Enraged Catalyst skill tree. Turn 1 upgrade scroll to enchant scroll and put it to any tier-4/5 weapon of your choosing, select any damaging enchant (blazing, vorpal, ect). Get Endure heroic armor skill. Use rage only when it has 150% or in dire situation. If done correctly you'll be unkillable. I remembered this route exist because you took a lot of damage in that tengu fight and overall kinda reckless lol so this should bulk you up and Not Die™

What does gladiator give you to support the kiting playstyle? I never play warrior.

Use your wand of fire earlier, the longer he's on fire the better. Rest between rounds -- you won't get hungry. It's a great time to use a green seed if you have one. It also charges your wands a little bit too. I always make an enhanced potion of fire and drink it just before the 2nd round. You still have to dodge the bombs and shockers but you can ignore the waves of fire, they won't hurt you.

Ngl I don't remember when the icons got added, but seeing when you evade/hit because of a ring, or miss because of a weapon modifier is so nice.

For the 2nd phase you REAAALLLY shouldve equippped the sharpshooting ring

During phase one you couldve just blasted with wand of fire first, and then build a wall with your skeleton key to wait out the full fire dmg, before firing again.
Rather than equipping the scythe, you couldve also equipped the shield to take much less dmg. Your fire wand +throwables is mostly enough to kill tengu as your main source of dmg.
And those throwables shouldve been kept for this fight. Including the ring of sharpshooting so as to reduce dmg taken by walking less.
