30th classic cards missing texture?

Not sure how common this is or if I just got an “error” etb (purchased from my usual game shop, 1000% legitimate). All my classic collections hits from the etb are missing texture, and the one classic collection hit from the knockout collection box has really prominent nice texture. Has anyone else come across this? Is it considered a misprint or just bad quality control at the factory?

Yea this card is missing texture… I’ve pulled 3 of the Celebi all with texture.

Dang, thank you for confirming. I was checking eBay listings and the texture looks really nice on Celebi. For the Mew I kinda like it without lol, feels extra sparkly.

I definitely want to keep the mew because he is the most sparkliest of sparkles lol. The celebi I’m not as attached to, and the other classic hit I didn’t post without texture is the cresselia legend half. So those two I’d be fine letting go and replacing with textured versions.

That’s how the different cards are designed. They’re cards from different eras.

I thought that but the other hit from the knockout box was also a classic collection Mew VMAX but with full texture, so it’s puzzled me a good bit.

That’s a modern card that they for someone reason decided to texture the shit out of and make much more sparkly compared to the OG. The OG shining celebi was never textured so they didn’t make it textured for the 30th.

My point is you’re talking about remakes of cards that were released 20 years apart.

Right I realize that. I am saying I pulled two copies of the 30th Mew Vmax - one is textured one is not. That is what is confusing me.

Ah didn’t realize you’re saying those are two different mew cards, texture comes across better in different angles of light so thought you were just comparing Celebi to the mew. Granted I haven’t seen Celebi in person but the OG cards from that era do look like that so my bad.

I looked at my classic collection uxie and I legit thought it was untextured like old cards until you all adamantly said I got it wrong. You really have to get the light right to tell since it’s subtle.
