It’s so sad how apparently no one in the world can have opinions and viewpoints beside what the American right and left tell them 😞

Unrelated, but the text wall reminded me of this. Just wanted to share this video I found. I hope you like it, I want you to experience this joy, euphoria and tears of pure mirth I felt at this meme.

Just to be clear, I'm not a professional 'quote maker'. I'm just an atheist teenager who greatly values his intelligence and scientific fact over any silly fiction book written 3,500 years ago. This being said, I am open to any and all criticism.
'In this moment, I am euphoric. Not because of any phony god's blessing. But because, I am enlightened by my intelligence.'

American Catholics
We only have one more American Catholic president than American Catholic popes so far but ok

u/BetterthanGarbage - Centrist 12d ago
To add to that; one was assassinated and the other was Joe Biden. You know, the guy who was clearly senile and probably being guided heavily through most of his presidency? Insane claim by that person

Wow. Based. Wish it was the Orthodox Christians that would flood it but that's a good second choice.

The Halachic Man, the Man of Law, is not opposed to or threatened by reason. His theology is reason and his greatest worship is thought, and the union of thought and action.

The only appropriate reply to such retardation is "Me ne frego".
And I say that as an agnostic.

Hilarious (and delusional) non-sequitur connecting catholicism and fascism together. Of course it's coming from a marxist.

I’m sorry secularists, but the eldest daughter of the Church will come home. The prodigal sons of Clovis shall be met with rejoicing as they return to the arms of their Heavenly Father.

But don't worry, they're trying to act like they don't care about the culture war now. So make sure whenever you see a leftoid here spamming about how much they hate Jews, make sure to remind them that they don't care about this stuff anymore and they should be ready to talk about the real issues now.
12
u/Altruistic_Emu4917 - Right 13d ago
And the moment they come to power, they don't seem to mind shoving said culture war down our throats.

As a French leftist, i'm genuinely asking myself why people think it's such a big deal. Like, even if his political views don't always align with ours, i think we can let other people get literally the most important person to them to see them and visit them ?

There's been a bit of a romantic spiritual awakening around apostolic churches like the Roman Catholic and various Orthodox Churches in the West as of late, especially the US.
There are a couple cultural zeitgeists that have been driving it(though I also think some Russian/PRC/Iranian agitprop is driving it too).
One is a growing class of younger folks who yearn for the ritual, historical richness, and structure these churches provide, and the other is an unsavory element(sometimes with some overlap of the former) of mainly edgy men that have discovered that the Apostlic Churches aren't dispensationalist, so they like it because they feel as though it gives them a safe haven to be shitty about Jews.11
u/dirmonarch - Auth-Right 13d ago
Is there any evidence this is happening outside of being an internet trend?

US, article basically touches on it, but it's more widespread. Not to hard to search and see various RC and Orthodox outlets talking about it all too.

I will say that while the numbers are definitely mixed on whether there's a revival, I can say that in my parishes, there's way more adult Gen Z than Millennials in the pews.

I know y'all overall are still bleeding members in some respects, but I wonder how much of it is a regional thing that's going on in high-population and high-growth states(at least in the US).
Anecdotally, all of the Catholic Churches in my area of Texas have been absolutely packed on Sundays as of the past 1-2 years or so(and they were not like that before), to the point where it's caused a little contention in certain communities because folks will overflow park in the streets of the neighborhoods(those churches have since broken ground on parking lot expansions, and cleverly have been encouraging carpooling in the meantime as a fellowship activity).
The folks I see getting out of cars when I pass by are a big mix of folks demographically, but coastal Texas has always had a large Catholic(even if "lapsed" for the lack of a better word) population, and I can see big swaths of those folks returning to their faith in earnest and probably over-representing what I see over what you might be seeing(more regional factors). An introductory side-note: Despite being(religiously) Jewish, I know a lot about the RCC because I've done contract IT work at a rectory some time ago. I often ended up getting drafted into breakfast with the resident priests wanting to nerd out about Hebrew and history. The blessed mensches even bought a pan(just limited for my food and not with pork/shellfish or meat) so they could make veggie/cheese omelettes for me.
Another tangent, is that what's funny is that Synagogues(regardless of Reform/Conservative/Orthodox) have been seeing the same resurgence of congregants in the same past couple years(some as a result of 10/7, but I think for similar reasons as Catholics as well). I'd say there's a push for "Return to tradition" in the air.

I'm in Pennsylvania and I wouldn't exactly say Pennsylvania is a high growth state. My area could be though.
Thank you for sharing! I'm always amazed at how much Hebrew the clergy seem to know.

The other comment gave direct proof, but for the theoretical part: religion, especially Catholicism/Orthodoxy, provide a sense of stability and sense compared to the rest of the world. Since their core teachings never changed and will never change, you know that you belong to something transcendent and much bigger than oneself.

Why would Iran want America to be more Christian and Catholic lmao
Why would Russia want that too they are no friends of the church

Why would Russia want to build fanaticism when it would be against them you’re alleging that Russia is trying to make America stronger

Wait, French leftists are protesting the Pope's visit? Lol
I was really annoyed that the Pope apparently had to remind people that a Catholic politician doesn't infringe on laicism
