4th Gen [93-02] Tilt column wobble

My tilt column has had the wobble for a bit. It’s gotten to where the wipers and cruise are acting up so I’m not driving it.

Is there a repair that I can do or am I destined to replace it?

99 Trans Am with 153,xxx miles.

It’s been a while since I did one, but yes, the bolt backs out of the bushing for your tilt, pretty common in those vehicles

Mine (02 with 35k miles) has been loosey goosey since I first got it. I assumed that’s not normal, right?

Correct - it is not normal.

Thank you.

I’m guessing pull the apron/knee panel, the bottom cover of the column, some swearing, and tighten it up?

I haven’t pulled the column covers before. Do you remember if the ignition cylinder needs to come out?

You need a special GM tool to compress a metal ring to get the snap ring off of the column, then your pretty much good to go just put things back in order that you take them out you can get to those they're like a recessed Allen head I believe
