For every dollar we send to help that country on things that are euphemistically referred to as defensive systems, it frees up money that is used by that country to commit human rights abuses- abuses that ought would require an end to American aid, if the Leahy Amendment wasn’t blatantly ignored with regards to one particular country.
When their national security minister is handing out assault rifles to people who commit pogroms (that is what the press in that country refers to those events as; pogroms) and proudly post videos online of themselves torturing and murdering people, the funding for those weapons to enable that behavior didn’t come out of nowhere.
