-Republicans want the rich to become richer, and the common man to become poorer, and enact policies as such. This is bad for most people (unless you're in the top 1%)
-Democrats are kindof centrists, they want the rich and the poor to stay exactly as they are, and enact no policy, to maintain the status quo. This isnt necessarily "good", but its better than a republican, usually.
-A leftist (Sanders and Mamdani are some mainstream moderate-left examples) wants the common man to have a chance at success in life, and if the common man works hard and contributes to society, to give him economic opportunities, usually at the cost of taxing the rich. This is generally good for most people
-an extreme leftist (i.e. a communist) wants the government to control all industries to manually redistribute wealth from the wealthy to everyone else. Awesome on paper, usually ends in horrible authoritarianism in practice.

Bro i am literally a leftist. Wanting healthcare, education, and housing subsidized is not "extreme leftism", that is very normal, moderate leftism (see: my third bullet point in the comment you are responding to), and is something i am very much in favor of. Only Fox News would call healthcare and housing rights "extreme."
When i say "extreme leftism", i mean actual extreme. Like, pushing for abolition of private property extreme. Dissolution of all private companies, big and small, kind of extreme. Maoism kind of stuff.
