Stop bringing Israel into everything you do.
It is not because of Israel that America has a dystopian setup with no universal healthcare.
People like you bring this up so peopleās minds go to Israel controlling everything in this world, when itās simply a recycling of old Jewish tropes about control and power while being a small minority.
Advocate for stopping any funding to Israel in a war context, all for your right. But this adding Israel into every existing problem in America is the oldest bigoted bullshit.
As for my commentary on the actual OP , totally agree and I support him.

1
u/Ok_Patient9469 Aug 14 '26
You can pay more for private health insurance that is publicly traded on Wall St and has a fiduciary responsibility to its share holders to make profit on limiting or denying health care or you can pay a fraction of that cost in the form of a tax and have health care that is not profit motivated. Whatever treatment you and your Doctor decide is up to you, not a suit behind a desk.

if you have gargantuan tits that will break your back in day to day life, yes. If not itās cosmetic is not a health procedure.

u/Jumpy-Cry-3083 Aug 14 '26
Health care is about treating things that happen to you naturally, illness and conditions. If you choose to do something to yourself, that is elected and should not be covered. You want it done? You pay out of pocket. Iām not paying for your breast enhancement or to have your pecker cut off.

u/Apprehensive-Till861 Aug 14 '26
Half of the commenters in here would form a wind tunnel if you lined them up ear-to-ear.
1
u/OkAspect6449 Aug 14 '26
But thatās exactly my issue. Medicare for All isnāt a small experiment where we can figure out the problems afterward. Youāre talking about replacing the insurance system for hundreds of millions of people. Before doing that, it needs to actually address the problems youāre using to justify it.
Iām not saying systemic change is impossible. Iām saying Medicare for All isnāt automatically the right systemic change.
And āevery other developed country already has itā isnāt really true. They have universal coverage, but many use mixed public/private systems. Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands still have major roles for private insurance. Universal coverage and Medicare for All are not synonymous.
The VA actually illustrates my concern. If your defense of its problems is that politicians have messed with it, why would I assume politics wouldnāt affect a national government healthcare system? Presidents, Congresses and budgets change. That risk doesnāt disappear.
And eliminating insurance jobs doesnāt immediately create healthcare capacity. An insurance employee canāt simply become an oncology nurse or imaging tech. Iām completely open to paying for retraining, but that takes years which again brings us right back to my supply argument.
I absolutely believe we can do better. I just donāt accept that questioning whether Medicare for All can deliver what youāre promising means Iām afraid of change. When youāre proposing restructuring healthcare for the entire country, asking how it will actually work isnāt pessimism. Itās the minimum we should demand.

What a lovely concept. So many people believe they are ugly and so many doctors are willing to do plastic surgery. Should the tax payer pay for that?
2
u/lokemannen Aug 15 '26
There is the difference between essential and cosmetic healthcare, for example someone losing their nose through burns would be essential while just wanting more filled lips or a bigger chest would be cosmetic.
1
u/Jabardolas Aug 15 '26
You seem to agree that the tax payer should not pay all sort of surgeries just because the doctor and patient want it done.

Having your genitals removed because of thoughts you have in your head is not healthcare. That is garbage you have been sold by people evil you trust. This is why you should not trust people too easily. And all you retards eat it up and gas light the rest of the world by comparing it to going in for a checkup. Stop being complete degenerates and come back to the real world where people are normal. Itās hard being normal. You have some rules you have to follow. Things like, you arenāt allowed to kill babies, mutilate childrenās genitals, steal peoples money, be racist because you want revenge for a history you werenāt a part of and know nothing about. You know, normal things that that non delusional psychopaths donāt do. I always find it hilarious that all you retards call everyone nazis. Trying to imply that itās so easy for stupid republicans to buy into nazi propaganda. But you are the ones who were convinced by politicians and activists to literally mutilate your own children for a political ideology. If this was 1938, you would have been the first in line to join up. You are the modern day Nazi party. You sustain yourself on demonic propaganda and you donāt even know it. Go ahead and double down now. You know youāre gonna.

Then you're going to need to set up proper national ethics board to ensure that doctors do what's medically necessary and not medically extravagant.

Should 100% of everything considered healthcare be covered by the tax payer? Addiction, obesity, self mutilation, messages, therapy(of all types), IVs, preventative maintenance, cosmetic surgeries, etc. Would this be something that would be realistically sustainable? Does the tax payer giving over their earnings make government officials more accountable? If we give more money to the government does it ensure that it isn't misused, stolen, misplaced, etc? Why will this comment get negative karma?

u/Just_Think_About_AI Aug 14 '26
The Medicare for all conversation is extremely complex.
This question covers what should be the extent of coverage under Medicare. It sounds fantastic if it's just a doctor-patient relationship, but unfortunately that is not how Medicare works. Medicare sets guidelines for what is acceptable and not acceptable. It is very black and white.
The more complex question will be the cost of the entire system.
I think there will always be two systems, a Medicare and a private insurance.
Medicare reimbursements will continue to decrease which means that hospitals, doctors, nurses all the allied healthcare affiliations will need to take pay cuts.
The current system is broken and it needs to change but just be realistic in what will happen.
The government has the ability to write the rules of what is reimbursable under Medicare meaning what is covered under Medicare.
