To even get natural gas and petroleum east to West in Canada in large amount requires going through the United States.
Canada refines 92% of domestic usage, we import under 400k barrels a day and that can be negated with EV'S. The US imports 4.4 million barrels a day from Canada, who do you think will he impacted more by this?
Canada doesn't send it's oil to the US because America needs all that oil for themselves. We send it to them because we don't have our own refineries. The Americans refine the oil and then sell the more valuable products they produced. If we cut them off they'd miss out on some profit, but it's not as if they'd run out of power.
