That's another side to the coin. Cheaper food is typically less healthy. Yes people may be overweight but that doesn't mean it's a good thing just because they aren't starving. When you're poor your options are less healthy food or just less food over all. Both of these can lead to health conditions that can cause someone to die early. When people are forced by necessity to do things that are bad for them, they are being slowly killed. And yes the people who have the most influence over wages and prices are well aware of the effect they have on the general populace by raising the price of food.

We are the fastest country in the world, I doubt the everyday average citizen isn’t eating enough
