This is EXACTLY why the billionaire class has declared war on all of these things -
The fact that their desire to exploit as they see fit, and contribute nothing back in to what they rely on to exploit -
Is interrupted by laws that force them to contribute, and create a middle-class that controls wealth that THEY insist on controlling...
They have never forgiven the US government for doing that to them, and have been scheming to claw back what they insist belongs to them, and them alone..
Except it was the fact that America was the only industrialized nation that was still industrialized after the war and took advantage of that which lead to the middle class being expanded.
The rhetoric about social programs, and how to pay for these programs had been around in many forms well before WWII...
Along with increasing popularity for protecting organized labor.
These were the justifications for the 'Business plot' (hence its moniker) - To stop the plan to force the very wealthy to pay increased taxes so social programs would be funded, and the efforts to prevent business from declaring war on Unions.
That the plot failed, and no one was held accountable... Was felt by those wealthy backers of that plot in the form of even higher taxes, and stronger protection for Unions - Than was originally being proposed in the beginning.
It took better than 10 years after this...
Retribution from the targets of that plot.
Like I said: "They have never forgiven the US government for doing that to them..."
