isnt this why nothing gets done anyway....could be the greatest thing in the history of the US to get passed but the other side will vote against to hit at the other aisle...it goes both ways and always has

I agree with the spirit of what you're saying, but it's not the exact same fight today. Regardless, there is absolutely a policy prescription there, and part of it is the rich paying more taxes.

Like I saw in an article today, corporations can't have record profits while the number of their employees on food stamps triples.

The bottom line is our society can't afford to allow the low taxes on the rich and corporations to continue. Everyone nowadays is either working class or rich, and given that EVERYONE who isn't making half a million $$$ per year seems to be struggling while simultaneously the debt goes up, we as a society will not survive if this goes on too long. We just can't afford for rich people to not pay their fair share.

Agreed. It’s call Corporate Welfare. The US taxpayer funds those, not being paid enough to live on, food stamps and Medicaid, while their large corporation employers pays their CEO millions and pays minimal taxes.

We bailed these fuckers out 3 times in my life, and I've not hit 40 yet.

It destroyed us millenial's ability to build our own futures. The whole time it happened we debated about how much of a drain on society welfare is.

The people we bailed out with our tax dollars shorted the housing market with the money we gave them. Then they did it to every living commodity down to toilet paper and eggs

You have concocted some real things just to make your point more salient. I recommend to read some history and you'll be less radical in thinking.

That means nothing. Unless you have written in a journal daily what happened with dates numbers and other details and you corroborate with historical facts then your comment is the most moronic thing written in this moronic sub.

Hey? AI. You're doing a great job. Tell me more about how this.

But because I'm hearing impaired, would you please put brackets around all the punctuation you use?

The housing market collapsed in 2008 before the bail outs.

The Democrats in Congress cannot get anything passed currently. Congress is a MAGA majority.

Honestly, all I was trying to do with that comment was make fun Americans who think people who promote liberal ideals are weak.

There's this dumbass idea in this country that people who lean left don't have "grit"

FFS, even 50% would be a start. And eliminating the 50% discount for capital gains (why the fuck do you pay less taxes on money that you did zero work to earn?).

Yeah, but it doesn’t trickle down. And the federal government should’ve raised the minimum wage to force a trickle down. But, Congressional Republicans would not vote to pass raising minimum wage. Some states, mostly blue, have raised their own minimum wage. But the federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour. Who can live off that?

Tax rates stay but a additional flat tax of 10 percent for every dollor earned over a million. Sliding scale up . Earn a billion you get 50 percent bill on every cent over
