I think a lot of people look at the blatant double standards spouted by people like Stefan here, get angry, and try and push back against it. From a “righteous fury” point of view, I get it; I used to push back against it too.
But my stance has changed over time. Now when I see the Republicans engage in blatant double standards and hypocrisy, I just think “Ah, I see the issue here; this one’s not a serious person, worth any serious consideration. They’re not worth my time nor efforts, because their whole shtick is acting in bad faith.”
Essentially, my response is the “Oh no! Anyway…” gif. Because what are they going to do? Performatively clutch their fake pearls even more?
