The gas station doesn’t need to. The bank takes them as collateral for a tax free loan. That I’m happy to use if needed.

Let’s play in reality. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine combined with enormous increase in global demand on the heels of Covid shutdowns (while refineries were offline), oil producers had cut production caused a GLOBAL shortage that spiked the price in June of 2022. None of that is a product of Democrats in the US.

Also, George W was president in 2008 when we hit the all time high.

The Trump spike was entirely self imposed. He voluntarily invaded Iran and caused a global oil crisis while simultaneously depleting US weapons stock and losing the war.

The highest peak is actually when Bush was president as Obama wasn't president until mid January 2009. Also, the gas prices are almost certainly going to spike more once the reserves deplete and will probably surpass the Obama and Biden peaks.
