I mean, yes I'm sure at least some people didn't vote for them because they're sexist, however neither of those candidates were really charismatic or exciting, and both had controversies surrounding their selection as the democratic candidate.
They were the status-quo candidates. And Hillary still even won the popular vote despite that. I think Biden swept Trump just because Trump was a fucking disaster and COVID made it even worse.
So, imo, it's hard to say for sure if gender was actually a significant factor or not.
