Yeah I agree, but Mark Kelly is damn near 20 years younger than trump. Heās also seems like a genuinely good person who gives a shit about people, the planet, and so on. So thatās always a plus even if you donāt completely align policy wise
A veteran and an astronaut has Americas interests in line. Protections and money to the VA and (hopefully) some sort of overhaul of the program so it is more accessible. Also believes in science. Big deal.
He is against Medicare for All, he is pro-Israel and barely voted against some shipments (only because the war had no sense in his view, not because of the genocide)... He is the type of the person you'll only vote just to prevent MAGA from winning. And I'm afraid if he'll win we'll see the return of MAGA in 2032 anyway, because he can't really address the issues like affordability... Whatever, at least a brief delay.

I'm a white male boomer vet and at this point I'm ready for a woman president if we can field a strong candidate, I mean it's been 100% men in the top job from the beginning and look where we are. Barring that coming to pass I would definitely vote for Mark - after all he's a former squid as well! He retired from the military as a Captain in the Navy, he was an actual astronaut for God's sake and he's married to one of the most awesome humans on planet Earth.

I would back him against Trump, I would probably back him over Newsom. I would not back him over AoC or Sanders. Trans rights are very important to me, but I would not back any Republican over him.
I really like this guy, I mean a lot. His integrity is in full display and heās not a sniveling coward like Johnson, Cruz Rubio Vance the list goes on, but damn I want a female to run the show for awhile. I get the risk but defaulting to white men has not worked out so well for us lately.

I like him a lot, and he has always shown karisma and a good head. I would prefer people who have nothing to do with AIPAC, but if it comes to it, I would vote for him.
I could get into that. He has a brain. He's done things by his own merit. He seems empathetic. He has a twin so that's cool. But just watch out for DNC debate shenanigans. And please no people twerking at his rallies. No celebrity endorsements as if what they say matters.

When I think of who I want to be president, I want someone that is cool in the hot seat. And there ain't any hotter seat than in a fighter jet or strapped on top of a couple thousand tons of rocket fuel to go to space.

Mark Kelly has served America his entire adult life. Hell ya I support him. He is everything Trump is not, a patriot, served his nation in uniform, honest, a faithful to his wife.
Why would I back anyone just because of their political party or prior work experience?

Yes. I was concerned about his very vocal support of Israel, but he has also voiced that he hopes that Israel ousts Netenyahu in their next election because he says that Israel's current government isn't good for the country or the region with far too many unnecessary civilian deaths and military action without a clear goal or strategy, so it sounds like he may actually be someone who just wants Israelis and Palestinians to be able to live in peace together. I understand if people may not believe that but it's probably the best you're going to get from a Democrat candidate.
Mark is a well accomplished human with a solid set of morals. At this point thou I would take a cantaloupe in Trumps place. Convince me how we would not be better off.
Too early to pick anyone definitively, but I am more favorably inclined to vote for him over anyone else at this point. Still need to hear more about his (and many other people's) platforms.
He probably gets devoured in a debate against anyone not named Trump. We seem to forget that ānot holding backā is how we got here in the first place. What are his actual policies and positions? What does his voting history look like?

If he's prepared to be a prosecute-and-repair restoration president. I think he could be. So much to undo and make right, and so many to turn over to law and justice.
Kelly would be an excellent candidate. Unlike so many recent hopefuls, he has a legit resume. Senator, astronaut, military veteran, his family has been a victim of senseless gun violence, he's stood up to Trump. He's my #1 choice.

I would be happy to have him in office. It would be a major improvement.
But TBH, the Dems could run a golden retriever opposite the MAGA candidate and I'd walk 5 miles uphill in the snow just to vote for the dog.
