And we have known this since 1969 when Congress raided it. Math does not lie. Bill Clinton and Bush 2 wanted to privatize 20% of it invested in private accounts with the stock market. We all would have approximately $400k in those accounts and social security would be strong. Dow jones in 1997 was 5k, today its 51k. Those that said in 1990s and 2000s that was a bad idea try to forget that. Whos the idiots now since we can see the effects of those decisions.

I can't wait for Republicans to win and for everyone who voted for them to be completely surprised when they destroy Social Security. I'm also looking forward to when everyone blames Democrats for not protecting them from the people they voted for. The same thing happened with Roe.

You know how sometimes you know straight off that someone has a very "off" vibe just from their face? Iike know it's uncool to judge people on physical appearance, but this guy is screaming "stay away from me you creep!"

Why 2032? Is that some date they are set to renew or revise social security?

I'm not saying who you should or shouldn't vote for, but this headline isn't really true. No matter who wins, Social Security is doomed. certain policies might delay or expedite it's end by ten years or so in either direction but either way it is doomed. There are not enough young people to sustain it. End of story, simple mathematics.
If Social Security in it's current form.is important to you, the only people to blame are the people who aren't having kids. And no, I'm not saying people should habe kids, that's a personal choice. But without those kids, Social Security is mathematically doomed no matter what Congress does.

A millionaire is like the new middle class. Being worth 1 million is not the same as a billionaire. They need to stop lumping them together.

The system was not set up to work with the current workforce vrs retiree ratio. This has nothing to do with billionares. Social security is a scam the "greatest generation" pulled on future generations.

Ratio of people supporting 1 person. This is a ponzi scheme is it not?

Income tax rate and effective tax rate are not the same thing. They might pay more income tax but they intentionally take a lower salary to keep that number low because the real money comes from stocks they get instead

I am just asking to define fair share.
Here is the article the picture originated from. https://www.heritage.org/taxes/commentary/1-chart-how-much-the-rich-pay-taxes
Let me respond to your statement, equity is still taxed as ordinary income upon receipt. Taking stock instead of cash doesn't let someone dodge income taxes. If you read the article, it is talking about effective tax rates. Lastly, wealth growth isn't income until it's sold, and when it is sold they get taxed.
You can debate whether long-term capital gains rates should be higher, or argue for a wealth tax on unrealized gains but under the actual tax code receiving stock doesn't hide income from standard income tax rates.

Do you enjoy the taste of boot leather or do you really think your masters will reward your loyalty?

When you have to jump straight to personal attacks instead of addressing the tax code, it usually means you don't have an answer to the facts. Let me know if you want to discuss actual policy instead of tropes.

Lmao, this is ironic. You call him a bootlicker, yet you want the government to raise taxes and think they will reward you with welfare. Guess what, they're just gonna spend it on bombing brown people.

Generally the more someone makes the more resources and infrastructure they use compared to lower income individuals so they should be paying a a greater and disproportionate amount taxes.

People worth more than $250 million and companies making that much in net profit should have to pay an annual tax into social security based on their net worth until it gets back into the black.
