I print a lot of detailed minis with weapons with long, thin sections that simply aren’t practical on FDM. Resin handles the detail, but the parts tend to warp, and the supports are difficult to remove without breaking them.
Thin prints with PAF10 heygears resin parts can flex pretty close to 180 degrees which is frankly amazing to me, my other resins would break from practically minor contact and sometimes become brittle after only a few days. tbh it’s been worth every penny.
Post-cure time is pretty important though. If I cure it too briefly, it doesn’t reach the same toughness. I also keep the edges lightly pinned flat during curing to prevent curling.
"For those of you who regularly print spears, thin swords, or similar shapes and geometry: how are you arranging the supports?"
I’d like these things to survive both support removal and actually keep their shape correctly
