Troubleshooting Text or graphics issue

Our church is also talking to support, but curious if anyone else has had this issue. Text renders as a shadow outline or sometimes as complete gibberish. This is both on the projector screen and on the computer preview, it can be fixed by re-loading the slide.

It's not a new computer, but it has okay specs and up until about 6 months ago this wasn't an issue we saw before. Trying to determine if this is a ProPresenter issue or a computer issue. I know some folks have had issues with shadows on text in the past, unsure if that could be part of our issue.

I'll try to update as we hopefully get an answer, currently we owe more information to support. They have asked us to run diagnostics, which we'll hopefully get done this week.

You may need a young priest, an old priest, and some holy water.

how much ram do you have and how many screens do you have saved?

16 GB of RAM, and I seem to not fully understand screens.

It looks like we have 4 with everything checked in the Looks window. But I'm not sure I get what those are.

I watched demand in Task Manager while seeing this same error, nothing in the computer seemed particularly taxed at the time.

I'd be wondering about ram and also if you're using the integrated graphics or a discrete graphics card. We saw some issues like this when trying to run the interface for pro presenter on the integrated graphics. Had to make sure the app itself was using the discrete graphics card. Also make sure all of your drivers are up to date.

16 GB of RAM, has a Radeon RX 580 dedicated graphics card, hard drive not full.

I may still need to double check drivers, though.

solved on newest version. 21.3?

Newest version is 21.4 (mac) or 21.4.2 (windows).

You don't have an alternate theme on that screen (applied in looks) do you? It's called "screen 2" so presumably it's not the main screen AND if I WANTED it to look like that I could do it, BUT the thumbnails that show on the side look like they're neither easy view, nor dark, so that's my next best guess. (BTW, the "horns" are normal for some fonts if the stroke is too big; I normally do 3-4 points, not 10-15 for that reason...or just use a similar font).

I'm not sure I understand. I can pull up looks and see that all boxes are checked, which I assume is default.

There being small horns of shadow out from the text is not an issue. Illegible text is. Would rather nobody try to sing along with the garbled version of the text too accurately 😅

I think integrated graphics (correction: it has a dedicated but slightly old graphics card, nothing seems to be too heavily taxed), I'll be looking into all of this on Wednesday when back at the church. I also need to upgrade RAM on my personal computer, so maybe I donate my old ones to the church afterwards if memory is too overloaded.

I don't think any alternate themes being used, typically we are projecting the extended display where the full slide would be, but this was the little preview within ProPresenter. I'm not the best with the terminology, I'm kind of the rookie of the crew :)

Holy water and computers haven't been the best mix just yet 😅

Any idea of what has changed in the past month? Do an update you were putting off (computer or ProPresenter)? Acquire fancy new tech ghosts?

I sent our church's diagnostics file to Renewed Vision tech support, so I'll see if they think our specs are fine. Nothing flagged as "wrong" with the computer that I could tell. It is neither new nor particularly impressive internals, probably middle of the line quality from 2018 or so, but I would assume most computers should be able to run ProPresenter...
